    HDS Systems #23

Thanks guys but the website wants to charge me $75 USD for shipping to Australia for 1 tailcap rubber!

Hi, Does anyone know where I can source new HDS flat tailcap rubbers? As I was a HDS dealer at the time, Henry shipped me a few spares years ago but they’ve all split and gone to heaven. My last cap rubber is ready to split too. I sent HDS an email 2 years ago and didn’t get a response! Any...

Henry kindly sent me a few spare tail cap rubber buttons for my Clicky a number of years ago and after slowly going through and replacing each one as they split, I’ve finally got cracks in my last one! Anyone else having this issue? I’ve avoided getting a Rotary due to the added difficulty in...

Sorry guys but whether you get a light with a centred emitter or a notch-free rotary switch shouldn't be up to luck. Don't get me wrong, I love HDS lights, my 200 Clicky is with me every day - but honestly I would have thought issues like this would be picked up in the QC process!?

Still running my 200LM Clicky. Great light BTW. I know I'm weird but I prefer the Clicky over the Rotary - better clip solution too. I was looking into getting an 18650 body to vastly improve the runtime I'm getting on RCRs but wow, $166USD plus shipping!!

Was looking for an 18650 Clicky battery compartment and was a little surprised at the cost.

I've replaced the tailcap rubbers on all my HDS Clickys (both raised and flat) due to cracking. It's seems they crack due to age, not usage (In my case anyway). It's an easy task for my lights as I'm not a Rotary light owner. I can understand Rotary owners being upset with cracked rubbers when...

Trying running over the light with a folklift!!

I love my Sundrop XR-U but it really is a 'niche of niches' style of light with a very limited throw - only for up-close use or for longer distance flood illumination. Below are a few photos comparing the tint/beam of the Sundrop XR-U 3 speed and the HDS 140 GT. This particular 140 GT has a...

I must admit that I'm blown away by the sheer output of the Rotary 200/Tactical 200 lights - all my stock has perfectly centred emitters and anno. My own personal Tactical 200 makes my old Ra Clicky 140 GT look dim in comparison!! - Fantastic white tint too with the XP-G emitters. They were...

The Osram GD HDS lights can have emitters that aren't terribly well centred. I have seen a very small number that are perfectly centred but most aren't. Yours however, is one of the worst I've seen to date. It is probably true that it won't affect the beam though. The one below is close to...

For what it's worth, my own personal ultimate HDS light would be a 200 Executive with warm XP-G (non Rotary with belt clip option) (If/When they're available that is!!) I use the clip on my current EDC 140 GT everyday!

How did you clean the reflector without spoiling the OP finish?

    HDS Systems EDC #14

Well that is actually the exact reason I asked - Maintenance!! I would like to know if the resistance for the Rotary is provided by an O ring or some other method. If an O ring is utilised, is this part of the light sealed from the environment or will the O ring require cleaning/relubing etc...

So has anybody dismantled the rotary tailcap yet? I would love to see how it all works - in the name of science of course!

+1. I agree they are completely different types of light. I bought both and don't regret this decision one bit. A couple of things I should add. The McGizmo does have the best clip available and it is guaranteed to tailstand properly!! James....

I recently received a Mc Gizmo Haiku XP-G. Below is a quick comparision of the Haiku and a Clicky 140 GT. Size: Haiku slightly longer than the Clicky. Weight: Similar Output: Haiku brighter but with a narrower beam width. One possible issue for some is the Haiku's low and medium modes - I...
