    Yes, they're the lug and pocket bodies. The lug has a permanent keyring attachment and the pocket is flat on the bottom.

    I think it depends on the model. I have a SS Caribbean and Baltic that I had to modify to create water resistance. I have Matterhorns that all seem water resistant.     I have 2 SS AAA lugs, one purchased before the QTCs were available and 1 after. The non-QTC tube is ~1mm shorter. The QTC tube allows the o-ring to slightly protrude.
