    Dynohub Light For Sale

Is there any reason someone couldn't wire in drivers to run this from a battery pack? And, you should make more of these. It's a nice looking light.

Giving old components a new life.

Nicely done. Fry's has those flashlights in their bargain baskets for $2.99.

Since the topic came up, how can I mount my Eagletac M2C4?

Mount it like a DiNotte light with an elastic band. You might have to wrap light with a "grippy" tape to keep it from sliding around. Use a longer piece of elastic than you need and put a cable-lock on it so you can tighten it to keep the light stable. Good luck and let us know what you come up...

What material to wrap around a MTE torch??

I use thin, spongey, tennis grip wrap (I think it's called Wilson Ultra Wrap).

Why so high? Lights on the handlebar…

Most lights don't have a remote switch so having the light on the handlebars is the easiest place to reach it. Also, mounting to the frame would take away turning visibility (i.e. - the light would only shine where you are going while you are riding in a straight line). Twofish and DX both...

    LED came off the star

Thanks for the generous offer. I ordered a couple of new LEDs premounted on stars from DX. I'm going to stick with my "rig job" until that shows up. I ordered Cree XR E - Q5.

    LED came off the star

On my way to work, by headlight vibrated loose and made a dive for freedom. When I picked it up, it wouldn't come on. On the roadside, I disassembled it and realized the LED came off the star. With some fiddling, and an extra o-ring between the lens and the reflector, I was able to get it...

    Over-amp a blinkie?

Thanks for the replies. Just to clarify, I'm not trying to brighten them up. I just want the convenience of a central battery for both front and rear lights. I've got several similar blinkies laying around that I'm not using, so I think I'll wire up to these and see how they run. If they burn...

    Over-amp a blinkie?

I'm awaiting my new 18650-headlight to show up. I'm planning to run it from an external battery and would like to have my tail lights pull from the same central power source. I use three 9-LED blinkies that are designed to run off 2x AAA. Right now, I have them all wired to an external 2x AA...

    4 x 18650 Battery Adaptor

Awesome stuff. Very impressive and interesting to watch the development process, as the product has evolved. Have you given any thought to making a 2x, 3x or even 4x, in parallel but with the batteries arranged end to end rather than side by side. The reason I ask is that I'd like to slip the...

    DIY "Super" taillight (concepting stage)

I'm pretty sure I have my front-lighting situation squared away, but I'd like to upgrade my taillights. Currently, I'm running three Viewpoint Flashpoint "High Intensity" (their description), blinkies all wired to a DIY external battery pack. I keep two of them on steady and the middle one...

    Parallel batteries

Hmmmm. Thanks for the suggestion. I suppose there's no reason that I have to be drawing juice from all four batteries at the same time, is there? I'll mull over my wiring options here... Thanks again for everyone's help on this!

    Parallel batteries

Thanks. I'm starting to think I'll be stuck with carrying extra batteries to change out on my ride home. :( The current light setup (in black) is actually factory made with the switch on the battery case, between the batteries. The DIY, external battery holder is an old flashlight that I...

    Parallel batteries

Yikes! What you described is actually what I was attempting. The switch's placement between the batteries is what threw me. And Thank you! You saved me some heartache tonight. Would this setup correct the problem?

    Parallel batteries

I have a headlight that runs on 2x CR123 batteries. I'd like to increase the run time for my commute. My thinking is that I can use 4x CR123 batteries, but do it so that there are 2 pairs, (each pair set up as a series) running parallel. The diagram shows my plan. Did I think this through...

    2x CR123 battery holder?

I'll pick one up tomorrow and see how hard it will be to put contacts in the ends. Thanks.

    2x CR123 battery holder?

On my bike, I have a headlight running off of a DIY external 4x AA battery pack and three tail lights running off a DIY external 2x AA battery pack. I'm using rechargeable batteries(1.2v) so instead of pushing 6v and 3v, respectively, the lights are functioning on 4.8v and 2.4v. So, on my ride...
