    Dynohub Light For Sale

Is there any reason someone couldn't wire in drivers to run this from a battery pack? And, you should make more of these. It's a nice looking light.

    Interesting use of Lithium-Ion Battery

I had to laugh. It was embarassingly easy for me to get through the withdrawal. Just a $75,000 surgery and a morphine pump for about a week and I didn't even think about cigarettes.

    Interesting use of Lithium-Ion Battery

These are all the rage at my office. I quit smoking the first week in December, but prior to that, I noticed the smoking area was becoming inundated with electronic cigarettes. I just wondered why bother coming outside, in the cold? Just stay at your desk or go to the break room. There have...

Giving old components a new life.

Nicely done. Fry's has those flashlights in their bargain baskets for $2.99.

Since the topic came up, how can I mount my Eagletac M2C4?

Mount it like a DiNotte light with an elastic band. You might have to wrap light with a "grippy" tape to keep it from sliding around. Use a longer piece of elastic than you need and put a cable-lock on it so you can tighten it to keep the light stable. Good luck and let us know what you come up...

What material to wrap around a MTE torch??

I use thin, spongey, tennis grip wrap (I think it's called Wilson Ultra Wrap).

Why so high? Lights on the handlebar…

Most lights don't have a remote switch so having the light on the handlebars is the easiest place to reach it. Also, mounting to the frame would take away turning visibility (i.e. - the light would only shine where you are going while you are riding in a straight line). Twofish and DX both...

    DIY 18650 protection?

Has anyone here added protection to harvested 18650 cells? I ran across this at DX: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26112 I would not have known what I was looking at, if it wasn't for the two threads showing disassembled protected cells. I've got several unprotected 18650 cells...

    HS 802 mod time

I changed out the LED and forward driver board on my HS-802 (there's also a circuit board in the tailcap that controls high/low functionality). I put in a Cree Q5 and this driver board: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25505 It wasn't a huge difference but it is brighter now with just...

    Overdriving a Q5

I bought one of these a while back and am quite pleased with its throwing ability. UniqueFire HS-802 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16538 I use it on my bicycle for commuting and after dropping it a few times, the emitter came apart and conked out. I replaced the dead, R2-WC emitter...

    Desperately seeking charger...

Thanks Justin! You nailed it. My digital camera battery charger matches the same voltage and mAh output as the 18650 charger (it turns out the R/C charger I mentioned above is for NiCad so there's just too much juice for Li-ions). And by the way, my wife is going to be in Houston this week so...
