    TK17 - Tritium - and battery question.

Just got a TK17, and I like it a lot. The Osram LEDs are a great color. There are many slots on this light that look like they could fit tritium vials, but I don't know much about fitting these or what sizes are available. For example, the tailcap slots appear to be about 5.5mm long and 2mm...

    Best. Flashlight. EVER!

For EDC? Zebralight SC62w. Very small 18650, 900 lumens. Great moonlight mode.

List the BEST/WORST flashlight purchases you have made.

Best: Tie between my eagletac Ti D25C clicky and my Zebralight SC62w. Both excellent EDC lights. Worst: Foursevens Mini-ML. It's a perfectly good light, but it kept coming apart in my pocket so I had to stop carrying it.

The Right Tool for the Right Job

What are the situations that you encounter - routine or otherwise - and what are your flashlight requirements? It's important to choose the right tool for the right job. I'll start. I walk the dog at night. I live on a street with no sidewalks or street lights. I prefer a light with decent...

    Obsolescence in flashlights

You bring up a great point. I have many older/not-so-bright lights around. I only got into this a couple of years ago, so I don't have anything super old other than a couple mags. But the Fenix E15 is a great example. It's not so bright for a 1xCR123A by today's standards, and spends its...

    Annoyed by non-flashaholics?

I also usually get 1xAAA lights for friends, they're inexpensive and still way brighter than anything else they have. It had been the iTP A3, in the future it'll be the i3S or a Thrunite Ti. I always make sure to test my girlfriend's and parents' lights when I see them, changing batteries and...

EDC - What's in Your Pocket(s)?? Third Edition

Re: EDC... What do you actually - Carry On Your Person - every day? EagleTac D25C Clicky and FourSevens Mini-ML. Both are XP-G2s I think.

XML2 - XPG2 lights where only a small upgrade over predecesors. We can take a break.

XML2 - XPG2 lights where only a small upgrade over predecesors. We can take a Question about this: doesn't throw also depend on the reflector? For example, if my TK41 (XM-L U2) had an XP-E2, would it really throw farther?

    P60 Heat Sinking?

Great, thanks for the advice everyone. I actually asked nailbender to limit this drop-in to 2.2A so it's not exceeding recommended draw for CR123As. So it's not being overdriven. Quick question - I'd really like to keep the label on the drop-in for identification purposes (for when I get more...

Are CR2 flashlights a dying breed?

Now do CR2s have the same safety concerns as CR123A? I stay away from Chinese CR123As.

    P60 Heat Sinking?

Just got a new nailbender XM-L2 and a solarforce L2T. I have read that it is a good idea to use copper tape or aluminum foil to get better transfer of heat from the lamp assembly to the body. What do I need to know about this? Thanks!

Lights for Wives, and kids... what do you guys give them?

I don't have kids, but if I did I would want to limit brightness. I wouldn't want a young kid accidentally staring into a 500lm light, or shining it in my eyes.

$$$ keeping you away from what light?

Price is keeping me from getting an Elzetta. Durability is important for me, but at nearly $200 it's just too much.

Which model did you buy several times and why?

I don't own more than one of any type, but I have purchased several of the iTP EOS A3 Upgrade versions for friends and family. They're great little lights for the price.
