    High-Capacity NiMH Charger

I’m looking for recommendations for an AA/AAA nimh charger with at least 8 bays. More is better. Fast (1A) charging on all bays simultaneously would be nice. Safety is paramount. I need to be able to trust it to run unattended, overnight, etc. I was liking the Tenergy 16 bay charger before I...

How do you test your LiIons?

So, I have a hobby charger that can charge and discharge lithium ions. Is that the preferred way to test their capacity? How do you test yours?

Charger that will do 4x18650 at 1A?

Agreed. I only use protected Panasonic batteries (right now I have all EagleTac and AW). And I only use Chargers that HKJ says are good ;) That said, when it came down to it, I decided to go with two XTAR VP2s. I really like the display on it, and I wish the VP4 would do 4x1A.

    18650 ICR Charge Rate?

Got it. So I suppose even on 3400mah cells I should probably stick to 1A at most just to be safe.

    18650 ICR Charge Rate?

What's a safe charge rate for protected ICR 18650s?

    Recommend me a charger!

Currently, I use a Maha C9000 to charge and condition NiMH cells. I also have a Nitecore i4, D4, and D2, which don't have great charging rates, especially when you're talking higher capacity cells like 18650s and above. I'd like something with a faster charge rate - say 1A or more? Whatever...

    Best 18650 battery question

Re: What's the "best buy" in 18650s these days? I tend to use stock lights - ArmyTek, EagleTac, etc. I *think* all of mine are ICR - because those are the ones that are protected? I might be wrong on that. These are the cells I have now (although they have newer white labels on them)...

    Best 18650 battery question

Re: What's the "best buy" in 18650s these days? Good idea. Location is US. For budget... since these things aren't going to cost hundreds of dollars, we'll just say unlimited. Also, forgot to mention, button top.

    Best 18650 battery question

What's the "best buy" in 18650s these days? So I'm looking to stock up on a few more 18650s. My only hard requirement for them is that they're made in Japan and protected. I prefer Panasonics (I don't have any desire to burn my house down)... Anyway, the last time I bought them, I bought a...

    Review of SysMax/NiteCore Intellicharger i4 V2 Charger

I always power up the charger first. That said, it seems like chargers should handle this situation. What happens when the power goes out?

Powerex Maha C9000 charger "HIGH" reading while charging NiMh AA cell

My opinion - better safe than sorry. Toss those cells and replace them. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

    Experience with Panasonic 18650s?

I highly recommend against using lithium ion batteries - especially unprotected ones - until you have done your homework. These batteries can be extremely dangerous if you don't treat them right. As in burn-your-house-down-and-injure-you dangerous. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

New EagleTac 14500 - Bottom Terminal Crooked

I've since purchased a few EagleTac 3100mAh 18650s, and a couple of them have crooked protection circuits. Doesn't appear to cause any harm, but it still annoys me a bit. Does anyone else have this issue with EagleTacs? IS this maybe just a bad batch they've had? Are AW's batteries generally...

Maximum Discharge Rate for CR123A in Series

Quick question - I've read that the max discharge rate for CR123As is 1.5C, which would be about 2.2 amps for the USA-made CR123As. That's clear. I'm not an electrical engineer, so... if we have two CR123As in series - do we still adhere to the 2.2 amp rating? Or does it become 4.4 amps? I...

Rayovac CR123 made in USA vs China

Hmm. That's certainly interesting, they look nearly identical. Guess we'll have to be careful with Rayovac now. Any chance you could get a shot of the date code on the Chinese one? I'm interested to see if they use the same format.

Rayovac CR123 made in USA vs China

Just to clarify - are you saying that you purchased Rayovac CR123As at a store and found that they were manufactured in China, or are you saying that you purchased some other brand of CR123As that are made in China? Also, two things I've noticed about USA-made batteries: First, they don't have...

Battery storage containers/holders, what kind do you use?

Does anyone store 18650s in a Pelican case? I have one of those nice Pelicans from battery station that holds CR123As, I'm wondering if there's something like that for 18650s.
