    500 lumens for 4 hours?

Is a separate battery pack ok? I trail run with a Nitecore HC70 and have had it for years. It will output 550 lumens for 4 hours on high. In the woods I like either a small rechargeable light or the HC70 for the lack of bounce while running.

Best USB rechargeable all around headlight with running/walking in mind

The Fenix HM50R works for most things I need. A plus is you can also bring some cr123’s if you need longer runtime on a trip.

Killed my ST6, need a new headlamp.

I have 2 SG6's, one CW and one NW. I ended up buying the CW because I like the CW better for work but love the NW for running and hiking. My H600 had the lens shatter and I have no idea what it hit in my bag to do that. I actually prefer the SG6 over the H600 with the only bad thing being the...

    Fenix HL30 pre-production Review

Cave dave, Thanks for the pic. I took it apart as well and made it match the diagram. It honestly took me a little bit to figure out, but now its perfect. So far so good with the light and hopefully it stays that way. The battery compartment is a little tough to open, but time will tell if...

    H502 with 80 degree beam

I have the current model and although its nice, I too would prefer an 80 degree beam. Too many of my activities both work and recreational seem to benefit from an 80 degree beam. They both obviously have their place, but for most of my uses I would take an 80 over 120.

    Fenix HL30 pre-production Review

Received mine yesterday but wish it came Thursday as I spent the weekend till yesterday helping with the storms in MD for work and would of put it through its paces on day 1. Only went out for some yardwork last night just to mess around with it. I am actually impressed with the beam in real...

    ZL H51Fw vs Spark SD-52NW

Expired, I would take the Zebralight. I actually like the Spark, but the more I use it the more I like my Zebralight. The only real benefit the Spark has over the Zebralight is the 2AA capacity helping runtimes. I think its ok for my work, but I would not take it backpacking. I like to keep...

    Spark SD52 Mini Review

Bolster, Mine does not do a good job remembering settings as well. In fact the night I found that it shuts off when the batteries are drained, it did exactly as described. It took multiple clicks to turn on , but when on it cycled all the levels fine. Then after the batteries died, I...

My Inital Spark SD-52 NW thoughts

Marcis, Thanks for your updates. The low battery shutoff is a pain, especially if hiking in the woods at night because changing 2 batteries is going to be tougher than then ZL's 1 battery. And to maybe add to your headband issue, I got mine to feel ok when shortened the top strap more than I...

    Spark SD52 Mini Review

Bolster, I hope you don't mind keepping your thread going as the main SD52 thread..... I received my reflector today from SBflashlights and right now really like it. I won't be fully testing till my next on-call at work in about a month though. It sure did make the beam better for my work...

    Preparation for Upcoming Headlamp Survey

Great work so far! If I am reading this correct, the Spark 2AA format is missing from your Spark list.

    Spark SD52 Mini Review

Bolster (or anyone), Have you used the SD52 till the batteries completely died? I was using mine Sunday night and my Eneloops died on the job which is ok as I have spares in the truck, but when they died, the SD52 just shut off. It did not step down or anything, no warning then darkness. Is...

    Spark SD52 Mini Review

I have used my SD52 a bunch and so far the max was about 1.5 hours straight. Now with my next shift in a month or so I expect that to increase. When using it for the hour and a half I had no issues with comfort. I did have on a beanie for a hat though (gotta keep the bald head warm..LOL). So...
