    Streamlight TL-3 Questions

To be fair, the TL-3 does have some strong points. It's brighter and throws better. The head assembly contains a spare bulb, so you'll always have one around. Additional bulbs are inexpensive.

    Streamlight TL-3 Questions

That happened to me once. I used tweezers to remove it. Then I spread the pins apart a little bit, then reinstalled the bulb. No problems since. Overall, the TL-3 is an excellent value. I like the fact that it has a spare bulb in the head assembly. The tiny bi-pin bulb makes it possible.

So what are people looking for in a keychain flashlight?

I actually prefer rechargeables for this reason. I don't carry spare batteries. I just top off the battery occasionally. I can't do this with lithium primaries. Same here, except the HDS is much too large for keychain use. The next best thing is a JIL Intelli. It should run for days on a...

So what are people looking for in a keychain flashlight?

I use only RCR2s on my JIL Intelli. Runtime is not a problem. Simply use a low-brightness mode.

So what are people looking for in a keychain flashlight?

I think most high-end/custom lights have these in common: 1. Very bright (60 lumens or more in burst mode). 2. Powered by Li-Ion. 3. Multi-stage. 4. Expensive ($100 or more). At $80, a modded L0P is approaching this price range. I think most buyers in this category want super brightness, long...

Do you prefer regular Batteries or rechargeable?

I like to "top off" my rechargeables regularly so that they're always full. With primaries, I'd have to throw out cells prematurely. Bad for the environment and bad for my wallet. So... rechargeables for me.

The protected 17500 cells from AW fit perfectly.

FlashlightReviews.com may be down for a bit.

If you have full control of your DNS zones (e.g. can reload zones on demand), you might want to shorten the TTLs to 600 shortly before the move, say about a day in advance. After the move, increase the TTLs back to the previous value, usually 86400. NOTE: This temporary change does mean that...

Looking For a Thrower For Hiking

I think a Mag 6C is way too big for hiking. My main hiking light is an HDS U60. It's very flexible and has a very useful throw/spill combination. It's what I use 95% of the time. I also carry a SL Scorpion for throw. I have a bad habit of replacing the batteries prematurely on the Scorpion...
