    ultrafire batteries

I just bought two chargers each with two Ultras 4000mah black batteries, after charging one battery will only make turbo work twice and then kaput, might be the short button or the protection circuit, charged another and after the second day of use seems to work just fine, batteries and chargers...

    **NEW** Nitecore EC25

I bet their are statistics if they could be found that will show the most often case of water or moisture getting in a flashlight is from it being accidentally run through the wash. I wear Carharts pants that have a nifty flashlight pocket on my right side, never had a compact light fall out...

    Nitecore Explorer (EC1, EC2, EA1, EA2) Round-up Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, VIDEO+

I washed my EC2 in my work pants by accident, moisture was in both the tube and head, battery died and the light has no stepping of light modes, only a high beam, the strobe sorta works as well as the SOS but it doesn't seem right. Its being tossed in the extras box, I bought an EC25, maybe...

    **NEW** Nitecore EC25

Do the washing machine test. I accidentally washed my work pants with my Nitecore EC2 in them and now I only have a single brightness, strobe and SOS plus red works but no step up or down, just stuck on a high position. Also killed the 18650 battery. But it was an Ultrafire. My EC25 I ordered...

What lights are we looking forward to in 2013?

I am looking for tactical LED lights that are easily rechargeable in the field for soldiers, has an infrared emitter for when using NVG, has easy to use low light levels in red and of course has long range throw, having the option of an internal green laser would be an asset as the light will be...

The best computer keyboards ever made - still

Well I have been using it for a couple of days now, I really like it, it has different colors like red, green and orange though I wish it had blue, the keypads used for gaming are extra tough but I have yet to do gaming with it. Typing is a breeze in the dark, the pads have a soft click feel not...

The best computer keyboards ever made - still

I just bought a Saitek Cyborg, I will write up a review when it comes in. My current Saitek Eclipse has worked fine for the last couple of years.

NiteCore Extreme Review - RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, COMPARISONS, etc.

I have been using this light all week, never could get anything other than full brightness and strobe, I may put it up on my shelf of miscellaneous lights I have built over the years, its just too bright for most work I am doing. there must be a real problem with it. BTW just how do you get to...

NiteCore Extreme Review - RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, COMPARISONS, etc.

I stand corrected, I think its a strobe as well, I tinkered with it some more today, I lubed the o ring with some silicone grease but again it only and by luck got into a low mode. If only there was an easier way to do that it would be a formidable flashlight, I would like to get a natural color...

NiteCore Extreme Review - RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, COMPARISONS, etc.

My NEX arrived yesterday, its smaller than I thought but it definitely puts out light! I had it in a lower mode once, several times in SOS which was very hard to get out of and it looks like it will have to stay in the high tactical mode because i cannot get it to ramp down at all, I will still...

    NiteCore Extreme (NEX) Comparison Review

I just received my NEX from China, awesome light, much smaller than I expected, cannot get the lower modes to work so its just set at full illumination, its a shame that there is all the problems of twisting and confusion to get into the user mode, I used to build the early led flashlights years...

After a long Hiatus BWCAW is back!

I was sort of a legend way back when CPF was a LOT smaller, here is an archived posting from 2002, I think I was a member earlier, then I used my real name, Daniel Ramsey. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/archive/index.php/t-13173.html For curiosity try reading what we did just 6 years ago...

After a long Hiatus BWCAW is back!

CPF is just like the old saying, "The more things change the more it remains the same" or something like that. I rarely post anymore and very few remember me from years ago. Nowadays mostly I see poor "engrish" posters asking for technical aspects on designs that is somewhat irritating to me...

Anchorage Alaska to install LED Streetlights

Yo Sigman, I bet the Ravens are gonna hate them, no more nice warm streetlight to roost on when its -40, they best to keep them out of the valley or these rednecks will have new yard lights! We have stretches of roadway like at the Knik River bridge that could use some low level road lighting...

    Boats and R/Vs

Hey guys i need links, wiring schematics and basic retrofits like building a Cree MR16 lamp etc and etc for a group of friends that know minimal about LEDs. Myself I can spend a day and fill up this thread but I would like some diversity, vendors are welcome and modders. To my boating buddies...

The History and Foundation of CPF

I would say I have retired from CPF, I occasionally lurk around, I still mod or convert LED into specific usages on my vehicles, its like a game where one month a guy has a Line of Fire LED strip under his tailgate and I build something brighter and fancier, Ford comes out with marker lamps on...

Neat Gravity Powered LED Floor Lamp

Re: Gravity powered LED light I could imagine a combination gravity device over a hydraulic cylinder combined with a small water pump run by a battery that was also charged by the flywheel effect of a small water turbine to boost the water above in effect to reset the weight.
