help wanted making a simple like for airsoft

a while ago I built some bike lights which though very simple do work very well and I fancy making a light for airsofting on the cheap. My bike lights used a philips masterlin MR16 bulb, an old bike light housing, standard cermic socket and was just connected to the battery via a couple of 4mm...

    regulator help (for bike lights)

I'm curently getting 14.6v with one bulb with batteries which have been fully charged then left for a day. It drops to 13.9 with two bulbs though and would like to get a regulated 15volts to the bulbs. the power supply is made up of 24AA cells 2parrallel by 12 series but I could change it to 24...

has anyone made flashing bike lights?

I was just thinking it would be really cool if you could have two LED units and have them on a slow flash for road use (or one constantly on and the other flashing) You could get really it it and put a trigger switch near your thumb to activate a 8Hz strobe if someone runs infront of you trying...

    non-lethal force

Would a 800plus lumen bulb work with a flashing function though? My bike lights take a while to cool down so I'm not sure how much difference turning it on and of 8times a second would make to it's normal blinding effect (which is rather large since it's a overdriver 35watt MR16 bulb)

    increasing circiut conductivity

I have some modded bike lights and at the moment it's a very simple mod but I'd now like to try and get more volts to the bulbs by sorting out what I think will be a fairly big drop in voltage due to teh stuff I've used. I've currently got two banks of ten AA cells too provide a 12volt source...

building a strob cicuit into a light. How would I?

I have an idea that it might be nice to have a strob feature on a little light. I was thinking abbout biulding it in to a mag solitair with a 8mm LED mod It seems to me you'd save power by having a strobe and you could have something which could be "useful" on the street. Do you guys think it...

using rechargable CR123 to run a 12V system

I don't want to use a lead acid pack, They weigh a lot and it would defeat the purpose of building the light. I could still save a load of weight over a lead acid by running Nimh AA cells

using rechargable CR123 to run a 12V system

Right since I'm a mountain biker I've been thinking of making a very bright headlight for it. My brother built up a nice system using bulbs with built in reflectors that run at 12V and runs on a battery which works out at about 12Nimh AA cells. I was wondering if the rechargable CR123 would work...

    my Maglite Solitaire LED mod

would this work with a 3mm LED so you don't need to drill out the reflector?
