    The thing about emitters/stars is something like this: Heat transfer is most efficient without the star (using just the emitter, which can be removed from it's star board) because it eliminates one more junction between surfaces. Also with the hotlips heatsinks, which are excellent by the way...

    Nerdy -- I must be missing something. The LED die on the Lambertians are also hexagonally shaped. The way I understood it, the batwings differed only in the shape of their dome. ??

    3 C's won't fit in the 2D body. It's 3 CR123's that fit with a properly sized tube to replace D's.
