Help needed: Adding resistance to a mag tailcap

About 4 months ago, I took my parents 15 year old Maglite (pre-D serial) 4 Cell D and updated it. I had someone make me a custom heatsync and a custom driver. I installed a chopped rebel reflector and put an XM-L T6 in it. The problem with the light is, with 4 freshly charged cells NiMh...

Best bulb choice for 55W HID ballast (looking for throw)

So I'm working on final HID upgrade. I have a professional's favorite that I was able to find a 55W ballast for (that fits behind the reflector). I'm going for the most throw I can get... Is it better to put in a 55W (H4) bulb to match the ballast or is it better to put in a 35W (H4)and...

My first maglite mod: (4) D Cell SSC-P7

This is my first mod so it's nothing fancy and I didn't take the time to grind the reflector down. Parts: - 15 year old Maglite - DX reflector: 13803 - DX SSC-P7: 12721 - (4) D NiMh Batteries from Ebay (supposedly 10,000 mAh) - 2.8A constant current driver from...
