    *1-K hr Update* L1-RD (L1 Red) ~vs~ X5 Red ~vs~ 24/7

Re: *168hr Update* L1-RD (L1 Red) ~vs~ X5 Red ~vs~ 24/7 I'll add my own modest experiment here. I recently acquired an A2L-RD, and ran an "eyeball" runtime test of the red LEDs. The light cut off, rather abruptly right at the 72 hour mark, having produced useable light right up to the end. I...

    Where are the Super Long-Running P60 Drop-ins?

I got my hands on an M61NLLL (the last one Overready had, I think). I was concerned that it might be too bright for 'round-the-house use. I forgot how much my early initiation with Surefire incans has skewed my concept of the Lumens scale. The output of the M61LLL is not nearly as bright...

    Where are the Super Long-Running P60 Drop-ins?

You guys may be right about your two-stage switch advice. Maybe I need to pack a McGizmo two-stage switch (I'm glad I bought a few of these years ago) in my emergency kit instead of a spare drop-in. I will definitely get an M60LLL (that naming convention makes me chuckle--it's a bit like...

    Where are the Super Long-Running P60 Drop-ins?

Thanks for your advice Brasso. I'm specifically thinking of an interchangable option for all those power lights running on P60 drop-ins. I agree that a second, long-running light would also be an option--one that most of us practice, I think.

    Where are the Super Long-Running P60 Drop-ins?

I have not seen the LLL! It's not on Gene's site, is it? It won't fit in my SC1s, but that's getting closer to my ideal.

    Where are the Super Long-Running P60 Drop-ins?

I remain perplexed that there seems to be no niche in the Surefire-style drop-in market for battery-mizer units. I love a super-bright light as much as the next flash-a-holic, but many of my lights are backups, emergency kit lights, camping tools, etc--and when friends ask me for advice on a...

Do you carry a flashlight during the day?

Of course I carry a light during the day! I use it constantly, too (as, I imagine most of us do): to look in drawers, under and behind desks, illuminate corners and above ceilings, point/indicate, etc. I usually carry a Surefire L1. It's just about right for most of my needs.

Law enforcement duty belt, what do you carry?

Hey Cap, what's the tailcap on your light? I recognize those Modoolar parts, but I must have missed that tailcap. I love the way it all comes together!

    Pride in your EDC Light

I never loan someone a cheap light! I don't hand my people my M6LT, but I don't give them junk, either. I'm not so attached to my possessions that I can't bear to see them used. I like to share my hobby with people, and if they are interested in a good EDC light, they'll probably make it on...

    *1-K hr Update* L1-RD (L1 Red) ~vs~ X5 Red ~vs~ 24/7

Re: *168hr Update* L1-RD (L1 Red) ~vs~ X5 Red ~vs~ 24/7 This thread really made an impression on me. I've been looking for a red L1 for a while to run my own test, and I'm wondering about all sorts of other runtimes: how the different colors of 3mm or 5mm LEDs compare using the same driver...

    SureFire M6LT

Now that the M6LT is in a few more CPFer's hands, I'd love to see someone do a runtime chart for it! I want to know if it is set up for "max power" drive like the Invictus, or if they've managed a little flatter regulation for the single-level light with a 3s2p battery.

    SureFire M6LT

I don't have an Invictus for comparison, but my M6LT seems to have a slightly softer beam with more fill light than the UB3T beamshots I've seem. The optical window has a visible diffusion film on it that I have never noticed (nor looked for) when handling the Invictus. I love the M6LT beam...

Help me find a tan torch

The tan G2Z is on clearance here: http://www.lapolicegear.com/surefire-g2z-colors-closeout.html With a good drop-in (like a Malkoff M61L) that would be a great match--and those are super lights with the pyrex windows, hex bezels, etc the G series comes into its own.

Spent ALL my money on an LED today!

Yes. I believe most projection TV bulbs are Halogen. I fail to see why filling the envelope with a specific gas would make a lamp (Halogen or Xenon) no longer incandescent. If it has a filament, it's an incan.

What is the best LED light for medical use?

The photo with the cups is very pretty. I enjoy illuminating different colors of plastic with different lights to see how they render the colored glow differently. Without seeing a daylight shot of the plastic in question, though, it's hard to tell anything.

    Malkoff availability

I am on the email list, but I do not have 24 hour access to email. Gene only posts in the evenings, and I don't get the email until morning. I'm not complaining about the system--just pointing out that is hard for soem of us to get these lights! ..but that's all part of the fun :)

    Malkoff availability

Gene (he seems to go by that in here, but I still want to say Mr. Malkoff) may not want to limit the number of "copies" someone can purchase. I wouldn't. This is a professional quality unit--so, I expect that professionals want to buy them. If they were more available, I would be interested...

'secret' Photon auto-off mode? Freedom and Rex; 3 min. w/ ramp

I've been trying for the past 30 minutes to set the auto-off mode on my Freedom, but I seem to be doing something wrong. How long should be waiting after the light turns off for the "short flash?" I've held the button for 2-3 minutes several times, and I assume that I should be seeing...

What do you think about the 130 lumens PALM BLAZE K2 ?

Ironic to see you two guys posting back-to-back just I am preparing to ask how the beam from the Palmblaze compares to the projector-flood output of my CentraLED work light. :) Am I correct in thinking that we are talking about similar beam patterns? With different emitters behind the...

    Can a XR-E or Seoul P4 handle U2 circuit?

Wow. My customer service experience with Surefire has been wonderful--they've given me service above and beyond reasonable expectations, I thought. I'm sorry your experience is so different.
