Surefire uses 6020. Seem to be the only one.
Most of the others use 6061, and Tiablo and Nitecore (and ..?) use 7075.
IIRC 7075 is harder but more brittle... however way that might translate to in use
Here's a thread on grades of aluminum.
Oh yes.. That's a great idea. If there's no effect on lumens that + C2 would be GREAT!
Would make the C2 on the longer side (total length=?) but it'd be sweet with say a single-mode SST-50 drop-in to have "low mode".
Somebody try it and report back :) :)
You know what we need is a newer, smaller-sized emitter.
I wonder to myself sometimes, what's going to happen with the E2DL and LX2 when there are no more XR-Es left?
Or if there are, are they going to keep making the same light with no revisions until Cree kills the XR-E? Sigh...
I'd say for 1-handed activation of strobe the Eagletac T20C2 Mark II is great!
For 2-handed activation 4sevens Maelstrom G5.
1st one is a thrower - but you can switch out the OEM drop-in module (XP-G LED) for one (XR-E LED) that retains the throw.
2nd one is a thrower.
There ya go: T20C2 Mark...
I see. I was suspecting that but I didn't feel the need to add 30mg of Zinc to my diet.
I do take a 15mg Zinc + 2mg Copper supplement, and before, Magnesium glycinate. I can vouch for the latter - but I think with both ZMA and mag glycinate it depends on your individual body and diet...
Re: What in reality is the good of super throwing EDCs without binoculars or a scope?
It's the burning feeling in the other persons retinas hahahaha ! In the industry where I worked in previously this is a good attribute.
I wanted to chime in and ask if the QT and Maelstrom share the same forward clicky.
I didn't like the Quark Turbo clicky feel, the Maelstrom looks like it extends farther out - different switch/feel?
Also, many NOW products are non-gmo, natural, containing no gluten, salt, yeast, soy etc, etc. It's amazing how so many supplement manufacturers who sell such high-priced stuff can't guarantee this :S
The E2DL with an LX2 clip works fine. The extra length of the head and head heaviness is taken care of with this simple fix.
This combo rocks! Plus no any pocket damage (at least in my experience).
I swear there was already a thread on this which I posted on :S
Anyways, could it be a legal reason? If it is there might not be a problem now but it may cost them down the road.
