Do you remember what you were doing on Sept. 11 2001?

To those outside the US that posted their experience I thank you. Your perspective something I don't often see through our standard media channels. As for myself, I decided to sleep in that morning after a long night of school work. It was my freshman year of college. My roommate ran through...

This is making my head go tilt

Actually it sounds exactly as I had described it. Off topic though, I'll hold the rest of my comments. EDIT: And one more thing, next time you intend to make an argument, stooping to insults is comparable to concession.

This is making my head go tilt

BS. The “Protecting Americans from Violent Crimes” amendment was tucked away in the Credit Cardholders’ Bill of Rights Act of 2009, proposed by a republican from Oklahoma. It was designed to end the injunction by a federal district court that stopped the implementation of GWB's reversal of the...

Why are flashlight owners and the flashlight hobby so cerebral?

Not to get too far off topic here, but... I find this true for the general purpose fishing forums, but the one I frequent the most targets a very specific kind of fishing with very specific equipment, and the general populace reflects a lot of the intellectual, innovative, and thoughtful...

Spray On Glass - Revolutionary Product

Thanks! I'm still curious about the health effects. If this sticks to plastics fairly well, I'd love to have this to spray on the hull of my kayak.

Spray On Glass - Revolutionary Product

I saw this all over the tech sites yesterday. The two things I did not see addressed were: would this be available to home users (I foresee issues with glass particles in the lungs, so I predict this will be industrial use only), and how much does it cost?

    Recommendation for some Good Books

Unintended Consequences by John Ross... IF you can find a copy of it. Very hard to find and very expensive right now. My second copy cost me $60. Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrel, emotional, but it's a story that needed to be told. Very well written, entertaining and gripping all in one book.

FWIW, If you have an ING account, their ShareBuilder product is very nice. Plus it's all self contained in your ING accounts, easy to transfer money in/out.

    FBI SHOT Show Arrests

Does anyone have a cross-reference of their arrest list and what company they are likely from, instead of just 'this guy from a company doing X based in Y City, Z State'?

I have never played with the stock market, but this company has proven to me that they will continue to profit for quite some time. They also have a significant cash reserve.

Yes I was quite happy to go from a few percent loss (I bought recently) to a 16% gain in one day. Unfortunately it has been doing that for the past few weeks, big gains, and then big losses. Hopefully the upward trend continues.

    Which picture hosting website?

FWIW, Photobucket is blocked through my work firewall for some reason, but Imageshack is not. I often view threads at work with large blank spaces and have to go home to see what people were actually talking about.

I might need a shotgun. please share your security idea.

To the OP, I'd suggest, if you decide that a firearm is the implement of choice for use of deadly force, you should take a proper course in personal protection in the home. The NRA offers these courses and goes over the proper course of action. The course centers around defensive pistol, but the...

Washington DC Handgun Ban - Overturned by SCOTUS

I think it's fantastic. What I need to see now is for the citizens of the restrictive states (California, NY, CT, MD, Mass, my home state of NJ) take their states to court. Even though the AWB sunsetted in 2004, NJ still bans a number of firearms by name.

    The Shotgun Thread

Well, yeah, for the most part. 922R applies to MOST imported firearms, unless the manufacturer holds a US manufacturing FFL. If the gun (like a Benelli M4) is imported under the US subsidiary company (Benelli USA), they are exempt from 922R and you can add whatever tacticool things you want...

    The Shotgun Thread

Re: Shotgun shopping The SPR453 and other shotguns under the Spartan name are imported by Remington from a Russian manufacturer called Bakail. They have a faithful following, but I have not been impressed their products. I have seen 3 critical failures in their over/unders. The semi-autos might...
