    Hmmm I'm still a bit confused I see some ppl saying the e01 is brighter and some saying the gui is brighter. Also it seems like ppl are getting e01's that perform differently?

    Yeah I got something that looks exactly the same from duane reade. They are bright enough for finding things, maybe not enough if you need to do work in there.

    I had never even heard of the L1S until you just mentioned it and I googled it. It is old, old old technology. Very outdated. The L1S is 10 lumens on low and 30-something on high. The L1T is of course a great light, but it doesn't really seem like you know what you want.....its an inch longer and half an inch wider than the e01, not to mention more than three times the price.     the fenix e01, and fenix's in general are quite tough. I have read threads of ppl here who dropped their e01's from fifth floor buildings and frozen them in ice and had them still work. Consider going for the LOD though. I got the e01 at first too because spending 45 bucks on a keychain...

    sounds like you've already gotten as much brightness as you're going to get with AA's with the l2d, sounds to me like either the zebralight, the d10 or maybe the fenix e20 or an lod might be nice for you, if you are looking for something just different.
