    To me, on my calibrated IPS monitor, it looks like the Nichia is a bit red cast /pink. And the Nichia seems brighter than the XML lights :)

    I think she will only appreciate the lights you gave her, after she was in a situation where a flashlight is needed/very helpful. She has to experience it. (i.e. power outage, etc.)
