    Propolymer 3C bulb burned out

Call the manufacturer and ask them (nicely) about it. Maybe you could get a new bulb out of it.

Ar... Is flashlight safe to check car battery?

Be as carefull with the flashlight as you would with a wrench. If you accidently drop it and it makes a circuit either between the terminals, or between the pos terminal and just about anything else metal (car engines/frames are usually grounded to the negative terminal) then you have a serious...

I'm pretty sure you can buy replacement reflectors if all else fails. They're only a couple dollars.

    4AA Helmet light advice

First, I have yet to see a (commercialy produced) LED light that has a tight enough beam to be able to compete with an incandecent in that regard. Feel free to prove me wrong on that one if you can. Second, although I am sure Wayne has a quality headlamp, I do not believe that he has obtained...

    4AA Helmet light advice

In a smoke filled room a flood light does nothing for you. It creates a lot of brightly lit smoke. Tight beams are helpfull in firefighting in that regard.

    4AA Helmet light advice

uk4aa hands down. It has the easiest switch to use with gloves on of any of the lights. Operating small or tricky switches is no easy task with bunker gear on. And it's approved for hazardous locations. Lots of helmet mounting options. Every fire dept in our local area uses them. I...

    your perfect light

Nah, gimme one of them glowing crystals like Gandalf has in Lord of the rings... Seriously though, a focusable (flood to spot) regulated ~5W LED that runs on NiMH AA's with minimum 1-2 hours runtime not more than 8 inches in length. With a textured reflector...made of diamond coated titanium

HardHat Lights some info & asking for suggetions

IMHO, the Underwater Kinetics 4AA light has a much better switch than the Streamlight. The UK switch is on the side and is very easy to operate even with heavy gloved hands. It's also Div2 certified and has helmet clips available. Other than that they are very much simmilar. I have one that...

    Does size really matter?

From the current mag catalog: 4D - 14 23/32 inches (including tailcap and head) 5D - 17 1/8 inches 6D - 19 1/2 inches Sure sounds like a 6D light. If you can't fit 6 batteries in it, and the switch is in the correct spot (if you press it and it clicks, it's in the right spot), then something...

    Brightest 4AA Flashlight?

Well, yeah, the Surge is also an 8AA light and about twice the size. That's not a fair comparison. I would reccomend the UK 4AA. If you drop it, it won't break. It should be more than bright enough for what you are going to do with it. And it has a lifetime warrenty.

    Brightest 4AA Flashlight?

EMS is actually more of a hobby for me. I voulenteer my time. I'm not concerned about 3 hours vs 5 hours runtime, I use the Alky's as opposed to my NiMH's because the NiMH's self discharge a bit too quickly. I sometimes go a month or two without having a need to use it. And I'd rather not...

    Brightest 4AA Flashlight?

Which UK 4aa? There are two different ones. There is the 4aa dive light, and there is also a 4aa class 1 div2 certified light for hazardous locations. I own the latter and use it with my ambulance work. It very good throw. It can suposadly survive a 6 foot drop with no ill effects (I'm not...
