    IMHO, It all depends on how big your keychain is. If you're like me and try and keep it as small as possible, the Arc AAA is the only way to go. The Arc is smaller than the key+keyfob for my car. If you're of the type that tries to have their keychain as large as possible, it might not matter...

    It probably has a lower internal resistance than a regular 9V battery, and hence when it is connected to an unregulated (resistored) LED, the equivalent resistance of the circuit is much lower and you end up with a much higher current flow. So it overheated.
