    21700 Cells

I am starting to see 21700 lights on eBay. Are any of these proven to use legit LEDs?

Formula to Estimate Lumens from Amps?

I have two bike headlights sold as "Solarstorm X2 5000Lm 2x CREE XML U2 LED Cycling Front Bicycle Bike Light HeadLight Headlamp" So 10,000 Chinese lumens claimed. Running them both at the same time off a 12volt source, I measure 1.95 amps at 11.5v This is just over 22 watts. What is the best...

    Finest point pen??

I just went through this - I wanted the finest / smallest tip pen I could find. I started with a 0.03mm tip Le Pen pigment liner from Amazon. Much to my surprise, it made 0.2mm lines, and the tip was about 0.18mm. My opinion is that they misrepresent their specs. I returned it to Amazon. I...

    Best 18650 battery question

Re: What battery to use? I see that LunaCycle has unprotected LG and Samsung for $4.05 each. Best deal I found so far on something known to be good.

    Best 18650 battery question

Re: What battery to use? I didn't research BMS yet, but my guess was that each parallel bank would use a BMS but each row in series would want protected cells. Or does the BMS see each and every cell? I will look into that. Here are some protected cells I found: $3.25 each...

    Best 18650 battery question

Re: What battery to use? Also it seems like when you use multiple cells, you must use protected cells. Panasonic NCR18650B may be the way to go. Seems like the best possible price for them is $6.50 each.

    Best 18650 battery question

Re: What battery to use? For my flashlights, I don't really care if a battery cost $5 or $8 or $1. It is all about the same. But I want to build a battery pack for an electric bike and need 65 18650s. I see I can buy cells for $1 each or Panasonic for $5 each. If you had to buy 65 cells and...

    1-yr review on $6.00, Zoom Q5 AA/14500

Strobe is incredibly useless and annoying and having to cycle past it is maddening. I can only think that a flashlight has it because people who are not into flashlights think it is a useful feature.

    1-yr review on $6.00, Zoom Q5 AA/14500

I am confused about batteries for this. How would a 14500 such as this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009GRFZGM/?tag=cpf0b6-20 compare to a Sanyo Enloop for brightness and run time? Thanks.

    2012 Battery test/review summary

Thanks. Why not just sort the list by performance rather than in alphabetical order for each current choice? Also - how does a Sanyo UR14500 compare to a Sanyo Enloop for a high current application like a light?

    2012 Battery test/review summary

I am having trouble just seeing what batteries are best. What are a few top choices in 14500s? How do lithium compare to using Enloops?

    Zoom/focusable lights

I wish I could see all of these side by side in person. Oh man - I just made the connection - Lensor is owned by Leatherman - and my friend works for them. I think I will be all set.

    Zoom/focusable lights

Thanks. The Coast lights are interesting. I will look into those. Is my light inferior to the Sipik SK68? I see that the battery spring seems worse. Since my light came with a defective clip I can easily return it and have Amazon pay the return shipping.

    Zoom/focusable lights

That head is too large for what I am currently looking for. My current favorite flashlight is the Quark Tactical. Mine says QT2L-X on it. The size is just right, and it actually has more throw than my significantly larger PD-32UE - which makes me a little unhappy that the PD-32UE has such as...

    Zoom/focusable lights

See how this cheap light can adjust to make the beam so tight that it will project an image of the emitter on a distant surface? It seems pretty neat as I can light up something surprisingly far away. Now this light is not good enough because it is not constant brightness, does not have an...

how is Surefire lumen count measured?

ANSI requires that if you use an ANSI spec for anything, that all the specs must be ANSI. Surefire rates the runtime of some of their lights as ANSI runtime, therefore, the lumens have to be ANSI lumens for those lights, else they are violating ANSI terms of use.

How come my T4 looks no brighter than my Inova T2?

I have a T2 and T4. I seriously doubt my T4 is 80 lumens. It cannot tell it from the T2 by the beam. Anyone else notice this? I have lots of flashlights, both LED and halogen, so I think my eye is well trained. I can post a photo if everyone says I am nuts but won't bother if others see the...
