3W Surefire U2 Mod - Is it Possible?
Instead of modding a perfectly fine U2, maybe you should try the Gladius, it's a bright LuxIII "thrower" with several brightness levels and an easy-to-use interface. Doesn't hurt that it's waterproof to 50 meters and reportedly durable. Just my $0.02- darb505

Has Anyone Wandered Into The Gladius Head Yet?
Luna, Thanks for the info, I wasn't able to find the post you mentioned but I guess it's not worth voiding the warranty. My Gladius is bright enough for me (blinding actually), but I guess I'm just being lumens-greedy :). It also doesn't help that I keep reading that the U2 is so much...- darb505

Has Anyone Wandered Into The Gladius Head Yet?
I read somewhere in CPF that someone here replaced the emitter in the Gladius with a U-bin (I don't know too much about LEDs but from what I read on CPF a U bin is brighter than a T bin)... How much brighter is the Gladius after this mod? How difficult is it to perform this mod? Lastly, how...- darb505
