My Shiningbeam Blaze is here. First impressions.

+1....every good thing thats been said about this light is true..got mine yesterday...floody enough in output to try on the bike, good bright spill.... but still throws far enough to see a couple hundred feet in front of me...beam tint is definitely on the cool side, but a good design and...

    What is your current EDC?

ITP SA1 Eluma...a little bulky for pocket carry? Maybe for some...but it throws out the lumens with an AW 14500  plus, the forward clicky is handy!

    Best Home Depot/Lowes LED light?

+1 I picked up the last blue one my local Lowes had in stock...almost as bright as my 100lm MF DA1 1xAA, and it has surprising throw to boot! Not bad for $11...don't care for the twisty switch or the strobe/sos modes but, oh well

    MF DA1 Q5 1AA Review

I've had my DA1 since late June of this year and have been carrying it in my pocket everyday since then (usually accompanied by keys, cellphone, etc)...it is surprisingly bright for running off of a single AA...the downside is that it draws almost 2A at first when a new batt is installed, so it...

    900-lumen flashlight!?

I wouldnt say the DX lights are crap...i bought this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12623 2 months ago, and its primary role is riding on the handlebars of my hybrid bicycle (mostly road riding) It lights up things well in front of me, almost like a motorcycle headlight...is it...

    Aurora Wf-600 18650 restrictions

The thing is too hot to the touch...i got to wrenches on it (padded of course to protect finish) using brute force on it, and it still wont budge :(

    Aurora Wf-600 18650 restrictions

Like boiling hot? Its HAIII with o-rings, so i guess it would be okay to submerge in a boiling water pan for say 10min?

Yeah...the blueness can be quite annoying at times for me...i usually prefer a color temperature of 5000k or lower to give me more of a natural sunlight beam in which colors look better, and not so harsh on the eyes...i believe my mf da1 q5 is the 'wg' tint because on a white wall compared to...

    1. Spending/looking...not so unhealthy for me, unless i lowered myself to resorting to a five-finger discount to get my lights :naughty: 2. Cheaper/more frequent 3. No LEDs? Probably not...but then again we would have AA sized 1000lumen HID EDC lights in our pockets by now

I am really new to this!

Welcome torpeau...alot of us are surprised how easy it is to get wrapped up into the whole flashlight scene...and the money it costs to keep this fascinating hobby goin :broke: the brighter you get a light to go, the more you want to get more power (rah rah!) so enjoy your stay here and there...

Hey thanks for the welcome guys! I know i'm probably in for a long-drawn out battle with my disposable income and my better-half(she doesnt quite get the whole flashlight thing ) but her 3d mag seems to suit her just fine (i got a mild 'wow' from her after she saw the output of the magled...

Yeah those cheaper a9s impress me especially considering the reduced price (knock-offs? not sure) but they look to be optimized for cr123 on output...and i'm trying to keep my rechargeables exclusive to 18650 li-ons...thanks for the tip td...i saw the StefanS beamshots for P7 retrofits and...

Hey everybody...been trolling here on CPF for a little while and decided to speak up...through this forum i searched and researched to find a good <$50 bikelight, which became an MTE P7-C 2-mode from DX...great flood and enough throw to see the potholes, debris and 200lb critters running out in...
