    Vector POB Focusing

I'm thinking it needs more throw, because based on Google Earth measurements, and my own eyes, it seems that i can't light up more than 300yds with the thing....but your probably right, Patriot, i could squeak out a little more distance with the current setup with no Dremel grinding, or anything...

    Vector POB Focusing

Yeah guys, i tried to take a whitewall shot to show you, but i can't seem to get the camera settings right to show what my eyes see...from a distance of 100feet, it looks like there's a tiny little <6" dot of intensity, and then the brightness kind of streaks outward from that dot a bit...

    Vector POB Focusing

Was wondering where i missed a post or series of posts awhile back that touched on focusing the POB's stock bulb...i'm thinking my light is a little more floody than it should be....didn't someone take measurements from the base of the reflector to the center or the bulb's arc? The more elusive...

    Stanley 5 Watt LED Spotlight

Nice review Bluebeam! I stopped at my local WM last night....and low-and-behold...they are finally carrying these Stanley (5W LED, 2MCP Halogen, and 35W HID) lights ...not gonna pull the trigger on a $70 HID purchase yet (My POB still is quite the handy long-range torch ) I...

Stanley H.I.D. and 1365 lumen spotlights (Part 1)

Re: New Stanley H.I.D. and 1365 lumen spotlights Well...my local WM doesnt have them and the stock associates tell me they have not heard of them...i imagine when they do put them on the shelves they will fly back off them quickly, ala "Lowes Task Force" style... Oh jeez, CPF is going to...

New found respect for the Power On Board HID

I am new to HID as well...and i must say the POB puts out some serious down-range light (500yd+)...for the price one can be purchased for these days($25 - 75), it's a bargain that's hard to beat....i love firing that thing up and watching (and hearing) the beam warm-up on its target...it brings...

    New to HID lights. Help!!

Yeah the POB is a good starter...price varies from as little as $20 to as much as about $100...if you can get one for under $50 shipped it will definitely be worth your money...but as others have said here if you are willing to throw down $150, the N30 looks to be a better value...size-wise its...

    Finally got my POB

yeah, guys, i like the look of the sub 5000k lights much better...i use my p7-c torch for bike riding(which looks to be in the cooler white region, prolly 6000k) which is fine for the road/trails, but vegetatian blends together alot more(and looks kind of bland)...my cree q5 torches compared to...

    Finally got my POB

Thanks bluebeam...i know i seem pretty eager to fix something that isnt really broke, but i like to tinker with things (my nature) i always liked messing with electronic stuff(especially musical intstruments) which led me to circuit bending little Casio keyboards to get differnet sounds and...

    Finally got my POB

Anybody? Shouldnt there be a boatload of upgrade info on this light (given how popular it is)? Or have most people given up on this light? I found a couple useful things through the search function of the forum and patiently combed through the long-winded...

    Finally got my POB

$45USD shipped from a seller on Amazon....first impressions coming from a newbie to the whole HID world...it is very bright...it does have a bluish hue(6000k) i dont have a runtime test but it appears that an hour of runtime looks to be likely with the SLA battery...i'm now looking to mod it...

    OK...allow me to rephrase myself

Sexy? sure....Bright? Hell yeah....affordable ATM? no...but when i graduate from my "bang for the buck" flashaholic stage to a "serious need for that kind of light at any cost" stage, i will seriously consider it...curiously resembles the MB BTW...thx flashanator!

    OK...allow me to rephrase myself

ok...looked at the pro's fav at my local AAP....its big! I almost got it...i did find a POB online for the same price and decided to go with it for now..just because its smaller, better runtime, and gets my feet wet HID-wise...if i got another spare $40 one day i'll try out the pros fav... i...

    OK...allow me to rephrase myself

Thanks Bluebeam....i'm still on the fence on whether to grab that or see if i can snatch up a good deal on one of the HID lights for cheap....it looks like the HID is the way to go...now to just find one at a store i can physically go to :ohgeez:

    OK...allow me to rephrase myself

 I was just wondering if anybody owns those Black n Decker "2 MCP" lights (supposedly rated at about 1400 lumens) from Lowes, and if so, are they any good? How are they at mod-potential? If not, whats the best <$50 spotlight that can give me some modding potential?

    VEC157CF Info

Hey guys...at my recent trip to my favorite home improv center, i found this little gem: [corrupted link removed by moderator] Has anybody here ever used one, and if so, how does it compare to the other cheap halogen spotlights?
