Help me revive an abandoned Novatac

Check the pos contact spring in the head, I've seen them loose and fold over when being tightened together, shorting them out.

    Arc 4+, Still a keeper!

I love the design of this light, even thought it's an oldie, it still looks like it was just released. I've been trying to find one forever so I can mod it and update the emitter. Pyros, I think I read somewhere an old surefire e2e boot will fit...

best reflector option for a mag p7?

A medium or light orange peeled reflector will smooth the beam and feather the hotspot out, blending in the "donut". A heavier peeled or stippled will blend the hotspot in with the spill but you will loose alot of throw..

    Stiff Piston for D10/EX10?

Heres the ratshack one... Clean of all the old oil, use a very thin layer of this on the piston and rings. Very thin, dab it on a paper towel or your finger and rub it on the piston thin enough that you can hardly tell its there. If it doesn't make it smooth, you may need to shorten the neg...

    Stiff Piston for D10/EX10?

I used the lube from radio shack, Precision tip lubricator or something like that I forget, it comes in a pen like applicator. Cleaned and re-lubed my d10 a couple months ago and it is still nice and smooth.

    Maglite XL100 LED Flashlight Review

Yeah, I think its about 1mm. Theres a little over a quarter of a turn before it shuts off with the ring on. But when Its tightened, the contact is good. You can smack it around and it wont shut off. The only thing is that the rubber seal doesn't go as far into the tube- it makes it though...

    Newest Novatacs vs. Previous Generation

Some things I had to do when I first got my storm: Tighten the retaining rings, they were loose. The pos contact spring: It had a sharp edge on the end of it that would catch the battery when you unscrewed it. This would "unwind" and bend the spring causing it to short and act funny when you...

    Novatac Storm and Blister Packaging

mine came from a seller stating it was a first run in the US.. The blister pack wasn't sealed it just pops open like a clamshell. You can still tell it was new though. The bezel on mine came off very easy, it was loose to begin with. But the tailcap was another story, very tight! At first I...

I bought one of these also, and I think its nice! My ano, lens and reflector are perfect. I may have to do the 250 clicks, id like it to stay at the chosen level. Now it just needs a rpm bezel:rolleyes: Thanks for the heads up

    *** The Nitecore D10 / EX10 Photo Thread!! ***

To change the battery you gotta cut a little slit in the hanging edge and rip it all off... I guess you could carefully cut a slit around where the head comes off. The tubing came in a 3 foot roll for a couple of bucks and I don't change the battery too often..
