Need some help with 12v regulation (hid mag build)

Thanks Benson, I forgot that 3 "c" cells would fit (with some spring/tailcap modding). I wanted to keep it 2d size - to look oem. I guess this thread can turn into a build thread with beamshots and so-forth, as thats the combo I will use.

Need some help with 12v regulation (hid mag build)

Hey guys, I'm planning on a build that consists of a 2d maglite and the WA 14w ballast. This ballast runs at around 12v (9v-16v to be exact). I would like to run it off 8aa nimh cells but the voltage is a little low to run the ballast near spec. Also would like to run it off 2x imr 26650...

Modding Northern Tool 10MCP into 25MCP HID?

This spotlight makes for a great hid conversion. Check mine out for some ideas. If you need any spare parts let me know, I gave up on mine after the ballast poofed..

I killed it! The ballast could not handle the extra power. I took it off the charger and brought it outside. I turned it and after a couple seconds it flickered like the batteries were dying. I thought- crap the cells are dead. Upon further inspection I smelled something strange. After...

Re: another hid spotlight- (My 55+w spotlight mod!) I ended up replacing all the stock wire. From taking it apart and moving things around so much the wires to the little circuit board and switch pretty much fell off. I have a mile of misc auto wire, I'm not sure exactly what gauge but alot...

Re: another hid spotlight- (My 55+w spotlight mod!) Nice, for a power supply you could find a small tool box or maybe even a pelican case, fill it with SLA batteries and mount a quick connect in the side of it. Then you just need to find a coiled line and run it to the light. I was thinking...
