    That makes sense. Rereading the first page, it seems a little clearer. I can live with 6v max. I did, indeed mean 35 milliamps (.035 amps). Is that too low to power these emitters? Maybe I misunderstand, but when you say "very very dim light" I hear "less than 1/2 lumen," which is dimmer...

    I haven't read this whole thread (forgive me), but I don't see details of what drive levels are available. I don't know how much flexibility you have with the drivers. Could you make an XM-L module with a single regulated drive level of 35mA? I'd like somethin that could handle 2 or 3...

    The LEs I saw at The Shoppe are a little too expensive for me under the current circumstances. Your advice is sage: I know I may miss this wave while I'm fishing for an inexpensive light engine, but that's OK. If I can't afford it I won't buy it--and I'll be content.
