Feedback/impressions on the PhD-M6 custom battery pack

Now that the lights are out in our warehouse at work, I've been playing with all the lamp options I have. I have to say that the N1 with the PhD is not to be despised. It has great throw with a tight, white hotspot. I actually really like it. Of course, you have to run the N1 BEFORE the...

Feedback/impressions on the PhD-M6 custom battery pack

By the way, I used my P-Touch label printer to make the only obvious upgrade to the pack:

Feedback/impressions on the PhD-M6 custom battery pack

I had a chance to play with my pack last night. I illuminated trees at various distances with the MN16 @ 6.8v and the MN61 @ 9.2v. The MN16 was super white and is a great thrower in this light. The MN61 is amazing! It produces a huge amount of very nice light with surprisingly little heat...

Feedback/impressions on the PhD-M6 custom battery pack

I just placed an order (over on the order thread). I decided to go with: 5.0 6.8 7.2 9.2 I know I'll regret leaving out the 10.8 level if IMR cells capable of driving the 1185 show up--but I have a couple of N1s, and the idea of matching my A2's beautiful regulated beam for 2 hours and more...

How do you charge your hotwire?

I, too, struggle with the charging systems required for my rechargable lights. I have some low-powered lights that use NiMH or Li-Ion cells with I charge seperately. I have a couple ROPs with 2D-to-6AA or 6A battery holders, which I charge outside the light in a cradle attached to a pack...

Is this the best an E2D capable of, I'm confused.

Those beamshots look typical to me--based on the two examples I have on hand. I think you may be evaluating it a bit too close to the wall when you reference beam shots at less than 6 feet--all beams will look strange on a white wall at this distance. The diagonal dark lines visible in...

Is this the best an E2D capable of, I'm confused.

If you shine the MN03 right up against a wall you will see the doghnut and the filament leg image. I have also noted a series of ghostly dark bands running across the corona on a couple of E1/E2 heads. It seems to me to be an artifact of the window coating.

Lol! Probably true :) I just get passionate about imprecise language. Sorry.

Is this the best an E2D capable of, I'm confused.

So, if my wimpy LED throws only, say 15 feet--then the incan E2D should illuminate objects 2,800 miles away (give or take)? huh? What does that even mean? Should I interpret your statement "a million times better" to mean "to some eyes, the E2 will be better for illuminating objects a little...

Is this the best an E2D capable of, I'm confused.

IF you're comparing it to LEDs, however, the beam will look yellow. It's a good beam for an incan, but way yellow compared to, say, and L4.

Is the 6P with the high output lamp assembly actually 120 lumens?

I definitely believe my L4 is 100+ lumens. I agree with size15--I doubt determining exact output was top of the engineers's list! Most folks wonder if it is "enough" light. Only around her eto we obsess over exact lumen ratings.

    UHOLA for E2e?

I don't know of a body extender for the E-series--because of the design, it would have to connect up-front (you can't extend from the tail). Bear in mind that you do not need an extender if using rechargeable 123 cells--you will use two cells to equal the required voltage. The P91 will not...

    Further optimizing the TL-3

Do I need to order the frosted version of this bulb? How bad is the beam from the unfrosted? I do not mind the beam from the standard TL-3 lamp.

    G&P Scorpion Series R500(lumen) Flashlight...

Paul, I don't think you can just pop a couple of 18650s in this light. The battery appears to incorporate two cells and the charging jack (probably protection circuitry outside the cells as well. I believe you would have to fabricate a drop-in charging jack unit (or at least a spacer if you...

    Best Lamp Assembly for G2?

Paul, does anyone know if the new 220 Lumen Wolf Eyes 9vlamp (also labeled D26?) will run on protected cells?
  18. T

Somebody NEEDS to make an A2 extender.

    Will the A2 handle a "9v" battery (either 3 primary cells or 2 Li-Ions)? I didn't think it would.

    Maybe I'm the sensitive type?

I just never leave a flashlight on for that long. I try to rely on my eyes to pick things out in the dark and use the flashlight for occasional light. I pretty much never have a high-powered light on for more 30 seconds at a time. If I need to crawl into a hole or see to work on something I use...

    M6 Guardian vs M6 Magnum

Surely they didn't use Lexan in an M6? Would it handle the heat?
