Smoother ramping depending on battery brand for QTC installed Peaks?

Success! I made a paper sleeve (card was too thick) for the AW cell and now it seems to be smoother (touch wood). I think with the looser cell its not making proper contact with the QTC pill. Just need to experiment a bit with the amount of paper to get it nice and tight but not too tight that I...

Smoother ramping depending on battery brand for QTC installed Peaks?

Paul I tried my Logan QTC with Battery Station cells and the AW Black Labels and it definitely ramps a bit smoother with the primary cells, though not dramatically so. They also fit better in the tube (the AWs are obviously smaller and rattle around a bit). Kind of bummed cos I want to use...

    Logan QTC

I just got a HAIII version in, thanks to my buddy Death's Head (RMSK dont ship overseas). I dont know what type of beam it is but its plenty floody enough for me. I really like the light. The beam is fantastic. The only niggle is on very low it flickers, so no reading with it. But when you ramp...

    Matterhorn 3LED kudos

Hey, That's very nice indeed.... I wasn't aware there was a knurled SS body otherwise I might have gone this route, although I do like the light weight of the HA version. I guess the lug body requires a bit more machining, hence the slightly higher price.

Need Pics of: Caribbean Stainless Steel CR123A Battery P4 LED

I have a momentary switch on my brass Caribbean. It works very well indeed. The only prob is if you have one on, you can't put a lanyard on the light.

Re: Review of new 1st Responder and Night Patrol Hey, Thanks for the link, that's a cool website. Those First Responders are so cooool.... Simple, but built like a tank!

    Matterhorn 3LED kudos

Yah, I was tempted to get the stainless but as this was intended to be a keychain light originally, I wanted the lightest one possible. The knurling on the HA version also helped sway me. I like knurling on my lights :D

    Matterhorn 3LED kudos

I just wanted to post here about my Peak Matterhorn 3LED HA III. I've had this light for well over a year now and I carry it every day in my pocket on the end of a fancy coil lanyard that is a pretty danged useful bit of kit I picked up on another forum... Its clipped to the lanyard next to a...

    Pacific anyone?

You don't need to lube brass - it's self lubricating. ;) Some lube on the o-ring will help prolong the life of the rubber though, and improve water-resistance.

    Pacific anyone?

Paul, Thanks for the pic - that's extremely useful. I can see what you mean by the added length. I don't think it could feasibly replace my Matterhorn as a pocket light. The Matterhorn can be carried with such ease, even in my tighter jeans. Oh well....

    Pacific anyone?

Hey Paul, Thanks for that assessment. I run my Matterhorn 3LED on a lithium energiser and it kicks butt. I would really rather run my lights on rechargeables though, and its tricky finding lights other than Novatac that a) appeal to me and b) are made for rechargeables. I'm surprised you...

    Pacific anyone?

Well, yeah... I don't need one, but I sure as hell want one! :D

    Pacific anyone?

Thanks guys... Actually, its the Ti version that's caught my eye - for obvious reasons: a) its helluva sexy and b) I feel a Ti light will always hold some value no matter what happens with the electronics. I also prefer the shape of it over the regular versions, plus I want to run it on AA...

    Pacific anyone?

Hey, I'm looking to take advantage of Peak's sale and pick up a AA light. I'm thinking the Pacific. Can I get some input from users of this light? I like a good runtime so it doesn't have to be a pocket rocket. Is the Pacific a good choice? Thanks

    Peak Kino Bay?

Peak lights have a standard twisty operation but you can order a momentary switch separately, which replaces the keychain lug at the back. Not sure if this is the case with all models or just some. I suspect it applies to the more powerful CR123 models only. Mark

    Carribean GTG with rechargeables

    Carribean GTG with rechargeables

Well, thanks for the lowdown... I'm gonna check out the website and see if there are any official statements about this. I have the CD-ROM as well, so I'll look there too. Mark
