    Vital Gear F2-BK

Hey, have you seen this Vital Gear light? I think this is pretty much just a 6P in another form, but its a sexy little beast ain't it? I like the clip and the bezel. Not sure what kind of clickie it uses. Anybody seen one? www.lighthound.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1548

    Dating my SF 6P?

Brother, you hit the nail there... she's such an expensive date I only take her out on special occasions. But when she's out she sure does light up a room :grin2:

    Surefire Lego

hmmmm.... yes, I suspected as much... which would explain why they are sold out all over town. And a lovely one just got snatched up over on B/S/T... chaps move like lightning on these items. Mayhap I will just have to pick up a new one when Lighthound have them in again. The two stage switch...

    Dating my SF 6P?

I got my old Nike shoebox out where I keep all my boxes and took a look at the literature in the 6P box. The leaflet was copyrighted in 1998, so I'm not as old as I thought :) It was pretty cool checking out the old line-up though. There's even a pic of SD guru Mass Ayoob demonstrating a...

    Dating my SF 6P?

I have a 6P that goes back a decade or so. The only branding is around the button, and it says Laser Products Inc, Cal. Surefire in white text. Is this an early production run of 6P's? Is there any way of finding out what year my light was produced? I know Maglites all have serial numbers, for...

    Surefire Lego

Thanks, man, that's basically what I need to know. Now, next question... L1 or L4? One has multi-stage, t'other has big output. If I were to REPLACE my 6P with a SF LED, which would do the 6P's job best. I know this is a hard one, but I think you guys are up to it :grin2:

    Surefire Lego

Hey, thanks... You say start with an L4? Would it not be cheaper to buy the parts separately? I've seen the KL4 head listed for $59 on Lighthound. Then you can get a body for around $36 I think. What do those two stage switches go for? I suppose you'll end up in the same place eventually...

    Surefire Lego

Guys, I almost took the plunge on a used SF E1E yesterday, with the half-assed idea of using it to play SF Lego with, and then realised I don't know a hella lot about this Lego business. If one were to build a SF light, what would be a good place to start? I'm not dead set against incan...

My first post.....Just picked up a Brinkmann Maxfire LX

Check out the Fenix L2T before you settle on the X5. It runs on 2 AAs (cheaper and more readily available), has two stages (low and bright) and it's a favourite among CPF regulars (who are known to be a fairly... ahem... picky bunch). It also gives you the option of buying a L1T body down the...

Hey dude, Here's a thought - sell me your 9DX and you can pick up the 9TX - guilt free! :grin2: :grin2: :grin2:

Thanks Paul, that's good to know... I like the idea of the LED tailcap... one does not always require 200 lumens of light! I just wish PTS would ship the WE rechargeables out of the US. Would make my life a lot easier! I think I can get a Wolf Eyes kit from Lighthound though... just waiting...

Arrrgghhh... :ohgeez: This is annoying. The blue light special over at PTS has ended on the 9DX and is now available on the 9XT. As far as I can tell, it has a different head (not turbo, 9v bulb) and it has the LED tailcap. I don't mind the tailcap, but is that head going to produce the same...

Hi Paul, I would go with this option but for some reason PTS cannot ship their WE rechargeables out of the US. So I have the option of getting the light from PTS and a recharger kit from AW or Lighthound. Lighthound also offer the 6PX light plus accessories...

Ok, for maximum kick I have decided to go with the 9DX Raider, which is going for a great price at PTS. NOW.... which recharger kit will work with this light??? Kit and batteries - I need 'em both. Sorry if this is an obvious question. I'm just not familiar with the different battery types...

Looks good! I'm wondering though... what batteries do I use there. Primaries? I'm looking to get set up for rechargeables. Which kit should I get from Lighthound to feed the light? Thanks! MArk

Hey Don, Thanks for the help... I'm hoping to get the complete set-up from one place, which will reduce complications and postage costs. I just had a look at Lighthound and they offer the WE 6PX (Explorer body) with a charger kit that includes a charger, two cells AND a 3,7 volt lamp...

Wow... I just spent the last 45 mins reading through this entire thread and my head is spinning! Some truly dedicated flashlight nuts out there...! Really glad I happened upon this discussion as I was in the middle of a search for a new incan with rechargeables to replace my venerable 6P...

    Best for under $50?

Can I suggest the Huntlight FT02X (available from Lighthound or JSBurlys). This is a pocket light that runs on one CR123a or 2 AAs - it comes with a AA body. So you can swap them around. It competes with my 6P for output. Don't know about runtime (yet), but I would imagine it's not all that...

    Lamp failure after drop ??

S-15 My apologies - had a Xmas party last night and was a bit 'merrier' than normal, which makes my temper a little quicker than usual.
