I forgot to mention as an AA solution I use a plain surefire E2L-AA with an E-Series twisty switch.

Best Malkoff Setup for Emergency Bag???

My setup is a little different then most for this purpose. I went with a 4D Maglite and a Malkoff XPG drop in, 8 hours of full output and days of lights on the taper with easy to find and cheap D alkalines.

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

I've been searching for a AA option for my Malkoffs, my latest lego is a Solarforce/Surefire host and some extenders that works with 3 18650's and 4 AA's. I'm running it with 4 nimh AA's and a M61 219. I"m hoping I get a few hour of regulation, I'm doing a runtime test overnight and it should...

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

So i wasn't paying attention and installed a 18650 backwards in my C2 with a M61 219. It still fired up after I corrected it, but it got me thinking. Does the M61 have polarity protection? Did I just F up my favourite module?

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

So I've been running what I consider to be a pretty interesting runtime test. I've been using an M61HCRI in a e-series body as an EDC for the last few weeks. I've been running up until now on an RCR123 but haven't really conducted any runtime tests over an hour. The last two days I've been...

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

Lol I have seen the videos. I actually have an Elzetta sitting on my VZ 58. Just wasn't sure if the same durability applies to the M61. Good to know though and the video is a great watch for those who haven't seen it!

I had some butter fingers when throwing my M61 into a new host. I dropped the module on my kitchen counter where it bounced and landed on the floor. It still fires up, is there anyway to check for damage?

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

I've been running an M61 off of a single RCR123 in a VME head and vital gear body. I really like this setup as well. I get about an hour of light or so.

Anyone do any runtime tests with their hound dog XML with different battery configurations?

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

I do have plenty of 2-cell hosts. Just trying something different and getting some use out of my E1E without spending more $$.

The Official Malkoff Junkie thread - Part 2

So I did a unscientific runtime test for an M61 on a single RCR123 and got about 35 minutes at full output and still plenty of light (%30 or so) an hour later. This makes it a viable option for me as an EDC. Right now I'm running it in an E1E body VME head and E-series twisty tailcap.
