Extreme distance flashlights, what their use?

I use my LEP for inspection of dark areas in broad daylight. I either have to walk right up to each one with an ordinary flashlight, crouch down, and shine it with my head and the light inside (so I can dark adapt a bit), or I can walk between them all and from 50 feet away with daylight...

Old timers.. what are you down to in the flashlight department?

I'm as old as they get and I always wanted infinitely variable lights that could be super bright if needed but turned down quickly when the environment became full of close in objects. Color was super important because a CCT of 4200 or less made brown objects indistinguishable (pine cone vs...

Which lights are best for weapon lights?

I have a friend who has a very nice AR15 but he has a less than ideal weapon light. Which VN lights should he be looking at, how do you mount them and why is that light a good choice? Thanks.

    Best EDC?

V11R is my pants pocket choice but for jacket pocket I'd use the V25Cvn or if you have room the MM15VN. A 12" x 6" x 6" toolbox has plenty of room for an MM15VN depending on what else is in there and you'll definitely win the 'mine's brighter' wars. :)

Pros Versus Cons of a Vn Modded Light

+1 for the Vinh light being more reliable. The only thing left to add is his return policy. Unless it's changed if you're not satisfied you can return it for a refund. Very few people have taken him up on that.

WTS: # 1 Must Have K40vn Thrower (New Batch) $150 No Box Option

Re: WTS: K40vn I got mine last night and my only regret is that I don't have enough line of sight distance to really let this light strut its stuff. 200 yards doesn't begin to show what it can do. Large 3400 mAh fit in here.

Anyone know the lux for the dedomed and dome on XP-E2 at any reasonable current?

Thanks. So the VN dedomed XP-E2 in a smooth P60 is going to be about 20K lux? And all these other ones are ~ 100K lux?

Anyone know the lux for the dedomed and dome on XP-E2 at any reasonable current?

I want to compare throwers and am interested in finding out if any of you with a Vinh dedomed XP-E2 light can tell us about what current it runs at and any measure of hotspot brightness. Thanks. Bob C.

    Visual fatigue

The only time I feel eye fatigue is from 6500K lights. As was said above, horses for courses. If you're hiking it's different than if you're looking *for* something. If you're in the forest looking for things under leaves in daylight, you need a bright thrower. Shine the light 50 feet away...
