    Re: finally put 2xLithium AA\'s in my NG500 minimag it's lithium AA's, don't they have something like 1.7v? That's around 3.4 volts total, on an L bin, which means that voltage is well within the safe zone AFAIK. Plus the NG isn't 100% efficient so i'd assume it's getting more like 3.2-3.3V.

    how about a 14500 battery? Would this be cutting it a bit too close at 3.7 to 4.2v? I could always just let em drain down a bit before using it I'm not running at the just-charged voltage of 4.2v. Again this is all speculation as I don't actually own any of these. Would R123 be ok?

    if you don't care about run time then your only real limitation is heat. I'd think you'd want a nexgen 750, 917, or 1000, depending on how much heat dissipation/how much you plan to use it at a time....I'm just taking a guess here though...
