    They say OK to travel with cells in Eneloop charger, but...

    I would think that if both - & + terminals are in contact that they would discharge. I bought a new unit (Duracell Mobile Charger) which came packaged with a plastic strip to block the negative terminals. I plan on keeping this plastic strip for when I pack spares in the charger for travel.
