    Tactical Flashlights becoming stale?

The Gladius is designed for close quarters confrontations so they still don't see the need to upgrade it to a P4 like Insight did with their H2X Typhoon II. Modded my Gladius to an R2 so it's much brighter and throws farther than both my single mode and 5 mode R2 drop ins rated from 117 to...

    Tactical Flashlights becoming stale?

The Gladius and Insight Typhoon H2X have all the features a tactical light should have, all of which can be accessed one-handed through its rotary dial switch at the tailcap: 1. Momentary ON at full brightness. 2. Momentary Strobe. 3. Continuous ON with adjustable brightness level and it...

    Tactical strobe..Does it work?????

Strobe is not effective in daylight. The frequency of the strobe is critical in disorienting a perp. When too fast (above 15 Hz) or too slow (below 10 Hz), one is better off in momentary full brightness mode or randomly flashing the LED flashlight because the goal is to confuse the perp's brain...

A new take on reverse clickies as "tactical" - Might make you think..

You mentiond above that you are "looking for another light to use in these situations" so I posted why a Gladius or a Typhoon H2X II features are much better than a reverse clicky like the PD30. Hope the ones using reverse clickies in your team don't get shot in a real call someday. Good luck.

A new take on reverse clickies as "tactical" - Might make you think..

Any light can be used for force on force scenarious but some just have better features which may avoid your getting shot at. Tried to make do with reverse clickies but it's tiring to keep it off and the click it makes sometimes gives off my location during night AirSoft games when sneaking up...

    battery leakage cleanup

Clean off the accessible battery leak areas with a cloth rag. Spray the switch with Cyclo Silicone Oil Spray a little every 5 minutes and use/work the switch slowly until the oil that comes out is clear. This ensures that the corrosive battery chemicals have been displaced by the silicone...

Anybody Own One Of Those 18650 Ultrafire C2 Centurion Knockoffs?

My C1 has at least 1/16 inch thickness in the battery body and a bit thicker at the bezel and tailcap. The two RCR123As are loose inside so it should be a good fit if I used a 18650 battery instead. I don't have a C2 to compare it with, sorry.

    Flashaholics in the past

In the 70's we used Winchester chrome or was it nickel-plated 2D and 4D focusing flashlights with a momentary ON button slide switch located just before it increases in diameter for the lens like in D cell Maglites. It had a spare bulb holder in the tailcap too. After a few years Eveready...

SOLVED!!!Flashlight windows and dust!!!!! I want it GONE!!

Re: Flashlight windows and dust!!!!! I want it GONE!! 1). A flip up lens filter as lens cover like the ones for Surefires and its clones might help. 2). I cut a PVC coupler in half to make a 1 to 2 inch bezel extension and to add anti-roll feature to the bezel of my Gladius. The 1 to 2...

    sloppy g2 tailcap fix it

We use thicker O-rings after the threads to improve water resistance and to improve the feel of the switch. Choose the right O-ring thickness to get the "twist to switch ON" resistance you want.

    What lumen?

A 250 lumen single mode light can easily be dimmed by reflecting light off walls, ceilings or even shining on your T-shirt to reduce the partially covered light to the desired brightness level. A dimmer single mode light on the other hand cannot be made to illuminate far objects if needed.

    hello!

Welcome to CPF Jonan! Just don't expect to stop buying when you buy your 6PL. May I suggest buying a 6P instead and a 250 lumen Cree R2 drop in replacement for the 60 lumen 6P bulb. You can choose your Cree R2 drop in, from the expensive Malkoff to the affordable Hongkong made DX sku 11836 which...

Why is weight (or lack of it) not a concern?

I prefer reliability, durability and light features/modes more than weight and/or size. :)

    Forward vs. Reverse clickie

IMHO, you'll get used to a forward clicky in due time. You can also manually strobe your light using a forward clicky no matter what mode it is set to, it's just not as fast or consistent in speed and light output. ;)
