    "PURE WHITE" Tint

I've been around here for ~2.5 years, have bought more than a few lights in that time and never once have I seen an LED with a pure white beam. Every since one I've ever seen has a tint when shone on a white wall even my 140CGT. So my question is this, have I just been unlucky or are people...

    Future of Ra Twisty?

I 100% agree with your emphasis on run time over pushing the LED to it's max. I personally see very little value in any mode that does worse that 1 hour in a single CR123 light or 2 hours in a 2 x CR123 light. In fact my absolute most used and trusted light is my Malkoff M61WL. I find a real...

Malkoff Hound Dog Vs 4Sevens Maelstrom G5

Re: Malkoff Hound Dog Vs 4Sevens Maelstrom G5 - beamshots inside! Looks to me like the G5 has a brighter spot and spill, would you say that's correct based on your real life observations. Also I'm halfway looking for something that can throw close to as well as my DBS, but without the rings in...

Ra Clicky (HDS Systems EDC) - Part 10

I mean this in the most polite way possible, but you only say that because you're being silly/irrational. This topic comes up a lot with dive watches. The idea is that dive watches are meant to be tough and rugged, so why put a coating that is relatively easily scratched on the outside. The...

Poll: Should Gene Malkoff continue the M60W/M30W series modules?

I vote yes. As nice as the M61 beam is, and it is about as nice as reflectored lights get, there is still something special about optics. My M60LW is still about the best all around outdoor light I have. Great run time, plus a WIDE spill plus more than adequate throw is a real winner for...

    questions about impending Ra purchase

I have a 140cgt and it is a fantastic light. I rally don't think there is anything better for the money. I'd say the wider beam profile is just about ideal for every day tasks and the gauranteed tint is about as good as you're gonna get from a cool white emitter. I also have aa high CRI...

    LOST my Malkoff M60

Keep looking, I bet you'll find it. Every now and then I'll leave something in an odd ball spot and spend a few days convinced that gremlins got it.

    Do Flashlights Scare Coyotes?

My families cats aren't the slightest bit scared of, or even interested in, bright flashlights. I doubt a coyote would feel any differently.

    Malkoff M61W

According to light-reviews.com the quark 123^2 light run 50 hours on the 22 lumen setting on primaries. The Malkoff low is probably similar to that.

    Malkoff M61W

This means we're just that much closer to the M61WLs coming out. I don't mind if they take a while since I already blew my spending money for the month:D

Body choices for use with Malkoff M61LL or M61L

What is this resistor ring to get two low levels? Are you referring to the hi / low switch Malkoff offers, because that only gives you two levels? What I really want is a way to have an M61WL with a 60 lumen low setting as opposed to the 10-20 lumen that the Malkoff switch gives you.

    Malkoff M61L is here!

Just as an FYI, R4 and R2 are efficiency bins. The higher the letter/number the more efficient the emitter is. So by definition an R4 emitter will always be more efficient than an R2 emitter. An R5 emitter will be even more efficient. Now what you may have heard is that R2 lights throw...

    Malkoff M61L is here!

I to am anxiously waiting for warm (neutral) versions of the new Malkoff drop-ins. Hopefully he'll use neutral white XP-G R4 emitter which would put output at approx 160 lumen. My Surefire with an M60WL drop in is already one of my most trusted and most usefull lights. An M61WL with its extra...

please advise me on a bright LED flashlight that runs on regular D-cell batteries....

Get a 5C Maglight and throw in a Malkoff XP-G drop-in. You'll have a hefty light that puts out 260 lumen for 5+ hours before slowly dropping off. It's not quite D cells but I think it meets all the other requirements you described.

How many Warm White quarks did you buy?

    3. Preon, AA mini and a 123^2 tactical. Of the three, the preon is the surprise hit for me. I just love the pen like form factor for easy, inconspicuous every day carry.

    Question about Quark Mini warm-whites

I got my warm quarks today and they are quite a bit warmer than any of my neutral tint lights. So much so that my M60WL almost looks cool white in comparison. All in all I like the the warm tint about even with neutral whites. I find the neutral whites are a bit more accurate with colors, but...

Nitecore Extreme Body, Surefire E2DL Head

Nice combination. I ran a nitecore extreme on a E2DL body bored out to accept a 17500 for a while.

Warm White XP-G Quarks Pre order

The 28% drop in output is compared to the R5 XP-G Quarks. Currently the most efficient warm white emitters that are available in production quantities are Q5 bin. In my mind that's grat because it means that WW emitters have now caught up to where the latest and greatest cool white emitters...

    The Malkoff M61!

When oh when are we going to see an M61W? Ahh well I suppose it's best if they don't come for a while, gives the back account time to recover from the limited edition Warm Quarks.

    returned my Surefire T1A titan

Why so rude? I'm sure he was aware of the specs and he probably bought the light hoping that it would be brighter than the numbers suggest. Unfortunately in this case it wasn't. I bought a Ra Twisty 100ww despite worries that a 70 lumen high wouldn't be enough. Luckily for me the tint makes...
