Had an old Fenix E15 twisty w/Nichia HCRI sitting in center console for the past decade or so. Haven’t really had the need to use it much. Also a spare CR123 in glove box. Would probably be a bigger light if it was used more :)
Another great idea for allowing flashlights to work as a headlamp is the Niteize headband.
Very comfortable and works well for lights up to ~1 inch thick.

I just had one of these new E15's modded by DB Custom. Here is his response on how he got the head open:
"I used the lathe. First I cut a thick walled collar out of aluminum that the brass threads of the E15 barely fit in. Then I cut through one side of it so it would have some compression...
Re: Early Fenix P3D repair
Thanks for the update. That sounds like great customer service for a light ~8 yrs old!
Funny, they had an old PD2 lying around.
I assumed walking/hiking at night with a light and stirring up conversation with like minded others. Also maybe in the flashlight section of specialized stores (gun, camping type stores). Then there would be a friend of a friend who's interested as well.
In no particular order, I'd like to see:
1) Nichia 219C in a 90+ CRI and even Cree LED with some real HCRI.
2) An efficient variable output UI or some other innovative UI.
3) Lights with LED on copper pcb with sufficient heatsink instead of dropping out of high mode after couple minutes.
4)...
There are occasions when I'm going out at night that I might bring 2 lights for the fun of it but for actual edc (every day carry) one light does it for me.
Does a smartphone flashlight count as well?
Just arrived, Xtar SP1 charger and two LG 18650 3200mAh cells.
Thumbs up to Mountain Electronics for super fast shipping, great combo deal price, and being the first US seller to carry the new LG 4.35V cells.
This peaked my interest so I googled thru CPF 'marwaremas' and out came one hit where this person copied someone else's SF C2 photo in the C2 addict thread... weird.
Two acts of blatant copying but his actual posts are no where to be found?
Is he even a real member? lol
I had the Fenix P1 long ago and it was a solid light for it's time, good runtime and bright.
I can easily see why your Dad preferred it over the bigger Surefire.
My condolences go out to you and your family and thanks for sharing the story.
Love the aesthetics of this light, bought one just for the design.
The new ones have a darker gunmetal HAIII.
Had Vinh put in a Nichia 119 HCRI so now not quite as bright but makes up for it with beautiful tint.
