    [Review] Fenix E18R & Fenix E15 (2016) VS Fenix E18R Beamshots

Re: Fenix E18R Review Good to know this new flat optic is more narrower and throwier than the old optic. Personally prefer the older optic pattern especially coupled with a Nichia 219. Thanks for the beam descriptions and photos. Hoping Fenix comes out with a compact 18650 twisty. The new...

    [Review] Fenix E18R & Fenix E15 (2016) VS Fenix E18R Beamshots

Re: Fenix E18R Review You covered a lot of great points. The E15 optic has my fav close/mid range beam pattern. How does the E18R/E15 beam compare to each other? Have you done any runtime tests comparing the new ARB-L16-700P to the ARB-L16-700? Thank you for the review!

    [Review] Fenix LD15R ... 500 lm+Warm+TIR+USB Charging

    Very thorough review, thank you!

    Reflector confusion.

Yes, adjusting reflector 'up' and 'down' in relation to the LED can improve the beam if the reflector wasn't initially set optimally. Some have removed ringy beams and tightened up the hotspot by adjusting the reflector. Btw, these adjustments are usually a fraction of millimeter adjustments.

My 16340 lights perform better than my 14500 lights

I personally use the 16340 over the 14500. The E15 is one of my favs, love the runtimes but always thought the 14500 sized Fenix would give better runtimes. This could be due to the driver voltage range like you mentioned. When measuring one should also take into account the driver efficiencies...

    Fenix e15 question

For getting a smoother beam, you can unscrew and open up the head, then remove the white plastic cover between the optic and LED. Removing the head takes a bit of effort though. I had my E15 modded so the head was easy to unscrew. After removing the white plastic cover the beam was much better.

    Tired of Fenix Lights Failing

Most any light will fail from continuous drops on concrete. Best to get some thick rubber tubing to cover them and help absorb the impact to the electronics. Similar to putting a case on one's smartphone.

I think I have fallen in love with SUREFIRE !

Astrolux is BangGood's house brand that is manufactured by Manker. EDIT: Ladd beat me to it!

    2016 e15

No problem moshow9, I just checked the E15 info and to clarify, the light will blink 3 times every five minutes as a warning only while it is in Low mode. If it is in a higher mode it will drop to lower mode as a low voltage warning. Also, it was mentioned not to put a Li-ion cell in the...

    2016 e15

Yes I agree. I personally use unprotected cell and check voltage. Even with protected cell one shouldn't be in the habit to drain it until protection kicks in. Regardless the E15 voltage warning is good feature and can be noticed easily. Great solid little twisty light.

    2016 e15

+1 to above, yes they are now compatible. The flashlight has low voltage warning and will blink 3 times every five minutes when cell voltage is low. Check out more info on the 2016 E15 here...

    Heatsinks

First off :welcome: crz6662! From my understanding the spacers are used in the Convoys when you are making a triple optic mod. The triple optic is more shallow than the stock Convoy reflector so spacer is needed. Since you are making a single LED and I assume you're using the stock reflector...

Arc flashlight is officially out of business...again

Yeah, it was a Henry light, here it is under their legacy page, http://www.hdssystems.com/Products/Legacy/Arc4/. One of the nicest looking lights imho.

Foursevens Quark Smart QSL-X measurements (bluetooth controlled, cr123a)

Saw the thread title and then saw it was by maukka so came in just to see the CRI results. I remember that thread where 4sevens mentioned 85CRI for these. Hopefully 4sevens can chime in with some clarification. Thanks for all the testing maukka!

CRI vs. alternatives with measurement examples

Thank you for clarifying, and as always appreciate all your efforts here and on BLF!

CRI vs. alternatives with measurement examples

Maukka, was the MX25L3C tested on high level? The Nichia should increase in CRI the harder it's driven. Since the little Astrolux A01 isn't driving the Nichia hard I'm curious how the MX25L3C would fair if tested at similar level to the the Astrolux.

Wrong emitter in Eagletac D25C Nichia 219?

IIRC, the older 219A from eagletac was SW45 tint and B11 bin. EDIT: yes they were sw45 B11, just found this: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?372540-NEW-EAGLETAC-MX25L3C-%286-X-CUSTOM-MADE-NICHIA-219-B11-CRI-92%29
