    Charging Clamps?

[ QUOTE ] Lynx_Arc said: I have seen a thread awhile back where they took cheap carpenters ratcheting bar clamps (usually orange ends) and adapt them for charging by installing brass screws in the plastic ends. Using these type of clamps I would say the limiting factor would be the length of the...

Nimh N cell with adapter for AA charger?

I got some "N"s and adapters from TnC. I'm using them in a BC900 with no difficulties. The TnC site indicates that the adapters are a bit long, and may be a problem in chargers that aren't spring loaded.

    NIMH Question

Okay. Fair enough. I did ask for that. So, is the easiest approach to run the cell down, and do a timed charge at a known rate, or is there some technique using a DMM that is not occurring to me in my weakened state?

    NIMH Question

[ QUOTE ] SilverFox said: However storing them at 100% causes them to loose capacity. You can loose (and never recover) up to 20% of the capacity in one year. If you are storing them for longer than a couple of weeks, you get better life by keeping them at 40%. [/ QUOTE ] Tom I have a head...

Jon I ordered a kit / set of these from you and received a shipping notice yesterday. Didn't notice the mAh rating on these on your site. What is it? Any peculiarities on these I might want to know about?

    Cue Cat mods?

When these things first came out several years back, Forbes magazine sent them out to their subscribers. Once I figured out what the hell it was, and took a brief look at the accompanying license boilerplate, I decided to use it for something that old Malcolm Forbes could appreciate. I used...

Huge Advance in the Battery World

It is interesting, too, that they are obtaining confidentiality agreements in the face of two freshly issued patents. It sounds to me as though those patents are iterative, and not very broad. Thus, it would seem that they are seeking deep-pocketed players to license their patent(s), rather...

    Cold Heat mini Review

I bought one of these at Radio Shack yesterday, and happen to have it on my desk. The chisel tip has a gap going up the middle, so that it is partially split into two. The directions are also interesting. "To heat the tip, carefully place it against the electrically conductive work piece so...

    18650 Charger?

Tom Pardon my for butting in, but this is more on less on topic. I've been looking for a solution to charge 14500s. The description of the unit at the link you provided leads me to assume this unit will work with them as well. A dumb quesion - Do you just attach the clips from the charger...

Anyone seen this AA/AAA La Crosse BC-900 Charger

Re: Anyone seen this La Crosse BC-900 Charger Tom Thanks for those links; they really have a wealth of information. There are times, and this is one of them, when I really marvel over what the web has become - in this case a substitute for a hard to find, and harder to access, technical...

Anyone seen this AA/AAA La Crosse BC-900 Charger

Re: Anyone seen this La Crosse BC-900 Charger I've been getting well-below claimed capacities on a dozen Titanium 850s. I didn't record the ratings, but they weren't as bad as yours percentage-wise. These were new cells that I was cycling / conditioning on the charger, per SilverFox's...

    battery vault

There was a thread a while back where someone noted that Ace Hardware also carries these waterproof match containers. Their's are supposed to be dark green, a little smaller, and it said that two 123s fit in and didn't require any type of dunnage to prevent rattling.
