What flashlight do you use most often?

Most often - TnC Key-Lux AA - a few times a day. Most hours - Elektrolumens ELX-6 - I walk after dark every evening for an hour to an hour and a half. Pretty dark after dark in these parts.

    Am I a Poseur?

If you have enough sense to ask the question, chances are you are not a poseur. Most poseurs do not realize that they are poseurs. The exception would be the prior post about the bozo posing in a mirror. If you were a fraud (I can't tell you why I'm here - if I told you I'd have to kill you)...

    JUST TWO MAIN FLASHOHOLIC TYPES?

A few months ago I was trying to solve a problem, and came across this place. Having solved my problem, I became curious. This, in turn, evolved into my being a curiousity seeker, and thence to dabbler. In more self-deprecating moments I define myself as a dilettante. I'd love to be able to...

    Interesting "Hey! Over here!" Lights

Re: Interesting \"Hey! Over here!\" Lights 1AA to 1 D. It's weird. The AA sits inside of a C size adapter, which then nests into a D adapter. I don't have any spare 3 or 4 AA to D adapters. The 3 AA to D would fit. The 4 AA to D might fit, as the one I have in there is in loosely, with...

    Interesting "Hey! Over here!" Lights

Re: Interesting \"Hey! Over here!\" Lights OK, just had resort to my wife's kitchen scale, and the lights I could grab the quickest. The closest in size is an Aleph 3, 1x123, standard Aleph switch. They are almost exactly the same length, around 4 3/8". The body of the strobe, exclusive of...

    Interesting "Hey! Over here!" Lights

Interesting \"Hey! Over here!\" Lights Like a number of folks, I've nearly been picked off a couple of times when walking at night by drivers who couldn't see me, notwithstanding street lights, my use of a flashlight, and so on. It seems that a lot of elderly drivers, who are very common in...

Re: Ikea infringes trademark, to pay Mag Inst. $44 [ QUOTE ] bwaites said: This case looks to me like Ikea won, Maglite got the win in court, but $44,000 when it cost more than $500,000 to defend? Maglites costs will probably be reduced, my guess would be to around half that amount, so Mag...

Re: Ikea infringes trademark, to pay Mag Inst. $44 [ QUOTE ] Phaserburn said: Mag no doubt has lawyers on staff full time, so "the lawyers made out" part is iffy. They get paid an annual salary to hunt and destroy such infringements. Is Mag outlandish for patenting the cylinder or head...

[ QUOTE ] DimBeam said: I think everyone is missing the point. The lawyers didn't win, Maglite won.Mag does not care how much money they spend on lawyers. Ikea infringes trademark, to pay Mag Inst. $44,000

The court costs figure just proves my point. Mag won a Pyrrhic victory. They spent over a half million to try and win 80 or 90k, and at best end up getting half of that figure. And they could lose part, or all, of the costs figure on appeal. This represents money they have already spent...

Ikea infringes trademark, to pay Mag Inst. $44,000

For a case of this type, $44,000 is chump change. Mag had to have spent more than this just to pursue the action to completion. In other words, they are almost certainly out some money here. The only people who won were the lawyers.

MJLED lover needs cheap source for 2 AAA maglight

I was last in the local Wal-Mart about a week ago. They had single AAA Mini Mags for sale. I didn't notice the price. I've noticed that the stock they have varies from week to week. Stuff disappears, then shows back up. Perhaps your local store is just out of stock.

    Flashlight for Girlfriends / Wives

I told my wife to pick what she wanted as between an Aleph 2 NG750, a TnC AA Keylux, and a Nuwai 2xAAA .5 watt cheapie. (I have found that when I do this from time to time, she is much less apt to comment about my various questionable acquistions.) I explained the difference in performance to...
