    My Mini Mini Mag

Here's another trick to center the 17mm reflector. I've seen a couple how-to's using 2 o-rings and I've never gotten it to work solidly. You'll need a # 017 o-ring and a UCL lens (it's thicker than the stock poly) Place the o-ring on a flat surface and press the reflector down on it. It's...

    My Mini Mini Mag

[ QUOTE ] ZuluWhiskeyFox said: Looks good. Have a go at fitting an IMS 20mm reflector in it. Takes some filing and fitting. However it will go in after a bit. IMHO the 20mm looks and work better in a MMag. Try it you won't regret it. cheers, zwf [/ QUOTE ] You know, I looked at that when I...

    My Mini Mini Mag

Thanks everyone. Right after I posted this my hard drive decided to "fail". Looks like I know what I'll be doing today. The drill used to tap the holes was a #36 for a 6-32 thread. Not too small, just a little smaller than a 7/64". Take a look at www.use-enco.com for some great deals on...

    My Mini Mini Mag

After much reading I decided to try and construct one myself. Here's my "Mini Mini". Obviously a cut down Mini Mag. 14500 Lithium-Ion rechargeable. BadBoy 500 from the Shoppe with a 3W LED. IMS 17mm Reflector. UCL Lens (I've got a source ) Kroll. I guess the only thing that...

    What lathe do you recommend?

Yes, right from the link I gave. No, $50.00 shipping is not bad. I had it delivered to my office but it is light enough (90#) that 1 person can carry it. Let me know when you get yours. Eric

    What lathe do you recommend?

You're going to really like it jtice. That's the one I linked to above. I'm very happy with mine and you can't beat the price. The shipping was about $50.00 to me via UPS. Have Fun, Eric

    What lathe do you recommend?

I never have but I don't see why you couldn't. You have 3.5" from the center line to the bed so theoretically you could hold a 7" diameter object. I wouldn't go that large but something like a flashlight reflector should be within it's capabilities. Here's a couple of good links...

    What lathe do you recommend?

[ QUOTE ] CNC Dan said: [ QUOTE ] Eric Maier said: Lathes are really simple to master. You've really only got 2 axis to coordinate, the "X" axis which is left and right and the "Y" axis which is front to back. [/ QUOTE ] Actualy it's X and Z. X is your diameter, and Z is your length...

    What lathe do you recommend?

Definitely both! Being able to make your own parts and gadgets is tons of fun. You're only limited by your imagination. Eric
