    The diameter of that ballast is 50mm and the diameter of the 'D' size mags and not even close. You would have to find a different host. Jeff

    The MagHID will definetly outthrow the Magcharger. Since the HID uses no filament, the light of the HID is brighter and more condensed causing SERIOUS throw. Jeff

    Don't do it. Read the max input voltage specs. Probably can't go over 12V (or 11.8V) Even 10 NiMH (each charged to 1.4V) is still 14V. Or 9 NiMH (each at 1.38V) is 12.4V...still over the max voltage. Jeff

    I have one. It's the exact same as Thor but a little more expensive. They also sell the batteries at Fry's. Rain is very bad for this light. Lots of vent holes on the sides. Jeff

    I think it's a defective X990. Since it's happening with both batteries, you may have a screwed up ballast. Jeff
