Has anyone sputtered the reflector on their LED Mag ?

Thank you so much for your time and effort PCC . It would seem to me , looking at your photos , that the hotspot is still quite bright after sputtering . It looks like I will have to use a diffusion film to get a more all-rounder type of beam profile . Thanks again .:twothumbs

Has anyone sputtered the reflector on their LED Mag ?

Ah , sorry . "Sputtering" refers to a light uneven coating of a clear laquer on the reflector . The effect created mimics a ' light orange peel ' effect . Most people use a mist of clear polyurethane . I want to know if the beam profile could be changed to be more floody ... EDIT : HotWire beat...

Has anyone sputtered the reflector on their LED Mag ?

I dislike the throw heavy beam profile on the current generation of LED Mags . I believe that sputtering the reflector would even out the beam and produce more spill and a more diffuse hotspot so that the light would be more useful for close up work . Comparitive beammshots would be great , but...

Low Cri XM-L - is color rendition that bad?

The problem with my emitter isn't CRI , its the color shift across the beam . The hotspot is white , the corona is greenish-yellow and the spill fades into purple .

iTP SA2 (R5) black dot in the middle of the hotspot?

Dude , you made me go get mine and do a whitewall shot . And yes , the hotspot does have a bit of a ' shallow donut hole ' on mine . I never noticed it before . I have heard this phenomenon described as 'the edge of the hotspot is slightly brighter ' . It is also present on my Ultrafire XML P60...

Need suggestions on a floody light

Any P60 18650 light with a well driven XML is floody . Add some diffusion film and the hotspot smooths out . Such as the Ultrafire 3 mode XML from Manafont .
