    I would lean towards pointing a luxeon at the ceiling. My Micra on R123 lights up a room at least twice as brightly as a 2 tube 4D fluorescent lantern. I like Darell's idea. Just make sure you use a large heatsink.

    Really Nice!!! The stock optic doesn't leave you much room either. You need a dinky o-ring just to fit an UCL. And you can forget about it with the booster head.

    This question has come up a number of times, and AFAIK they don't exist. I was personally hoping for a PWM daughter board that I could cram into the module, but I don't think that exists either.

    I've used two IC3 AAs in series to charge NiCad D cells. Pulls about 3-4 amps. I don't recall them getting warm, but I only remember checking the D cells for heat.
