    Your first led!

The 1999 Streamlight Stylus, which I got in 2000 (so I could finally have a long-awaited white LED in something); my first ever online purchase! Haven't used it in years, (probably after the battery died) but still have it.

Finally got the First Alert Multi color Flashlight!

Oh, cool! Just tried it. The manual was folded up small, and I missed it until this morning, and it's all in diagram mode. It even continues to flash in the cycling modes. I like the DLP effect. Makes even the while look colorful. I don't know what an 18650 is.

Finally got the First Alert Multi color Flashlight!

Had this on the back burner of my wishlist, and was keeping an eye out in stores to see if it would appear. It of course, first appeared on think geek (not sure of it was branded as First Alert yet), and then disappeared from there, but then was offered elsewhere. When I mentioned it to my...

    LED Laptop displays

Still, does using LED's instead of those little flourescents really make it "lighter than liquid-crystal displays", as well as "thinner" and "help dead pixels"? That is what makes it sound like it's talking about OLED. Perhaps the writer thought OLED was the same as LED. It just dawned on me...

    LED Laptop displays

Do they mean OLED displays? Or are they talking about the backlight or something? (But they spoke of it replacing LCD altogether, not changing the backlight of them). This isn't some new LED technology with really tiny diodes that can act as screen pixels, is it?

Do Li-Ion batteries fit/work in Inovas?

So this Inova is 3.0v, and the 3.6v Li-ion would damage it? That's good for me to know, because I am still looking for rechargeable 2032 batteries for my 3.0v RGB namebuckle, and I was afraid to buy the Powerizer ones at batteryspace, because noone could answer for sure whether the extra .6...

    Warm LED

This isn't really new, as I saw strips and strips of 2700K LED's at an LEDeffects office (when I was scouting out the DingDotz) in Sept. 2005. (they also had individual 3000's and 4000's). I'm not sure who the OEM for those is, though. I guess the news is the the efficiency is going up, and...

Finally got the RGB name buckle!

I had just sat down to order Powerizer's 2032 Li-ions, http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2420&strVarSel=515&strCompare= and the recharger, when I noticed they were only 40mAh. I don't know how that compares with the store bought batteries I had been using that only...

Why don't they make multiple color/single LED lights?

The Rav'n I had had one single 5mm rgb, which flickered the colors to make a "white" that would separate into distinct r, g and b images when you moved it. (I remember when I first put the battery in, and it was misalighed or something, and it came out a sort of flesh pink from the blue and...

Why don't they make multiple color/single LED lights?

RGB LED's have been out for awhile now. Products I have include the new belt buckle I just got, the DingDotz light string I use for Christmas, Carpenterdecorating's Intellishines and Target color changing C7 night light, the Rav'n partylight, and the Triklits string (which remains pulled due to...

All-LED lights display in Newport (South Wales), UK

I didn't realize this thread had been bumped twice now. To update, this December, you could find houses like Chris's around, and whole trees, like the Bellmore, LI train station plaza. More people have LED's, and I can still find some still up, in places like store windows around the city this...

Finally got the RGB name buckle!

Yeah, it does use two batteries, but on the other hand, since it specifies 2032; it sounds safer to use those, than to try to wire these other things onto it. I wish I could ask a manufaturer to be sure, but it doesn't even say who the manufacturer is, and that store probably won't know.

Finally got the RGB name buckle!

They said they had two when I got mine, so I guess they had one left. If I had the time and the extra money, I could pick it up. It would be nice if I could find the USB version such as this one: http://www.ecplaza.net/tradeleads/seller/4152352/led_buckle_usb.html, which also apparently can...

Finally got the RGB name buckle!

OK; I see that the Li-Ion is simply a rechargeable Lithium battery. And I saw on batteryspace.com, that they have it in 2032 size, and the recharger (to do two at a time) as well. So I guess I'll be looking for that. I hope stores have them. The NiMh seems to be an AA sized only battery, so I...

Finally got the RGB name buckle!

I don't know what those things you are describing are. Is Ni-Mhys some sort of adapter for AAA's? I don't know what Li-Ion is either. But I'll look, after this post. The instructions specify the 2032's, so I hope these other sources would not be harmful to it. (speaking of AAA's that reminds...

Finally got the RGB name buckle!

I was trying to get this from the Buy Buy Direct office last year. By the time I went to purchase it, it was pulled because of some defect. the onlyones I could find online were the Centch models on alibaba.co, but that is some wholesale trading thing, and I have no idea how how to get that...

New LED Christmas Lights at Home Depot

What are these "C3's" I keep seeing mentioned now? The small ones, which are called "mini-ice" are labeled "M5", so it's not those, and those along with the G12 and Maxi-rice are the only things smaller than the C6. Just to report, St. Patrick's Cathedral now has the new Warm White C6's on the...

Why does eevryone complain about the blue tints found in some lights?

Re: Why does everyone complain about the blue tints found in some lights? Actually, red is cool, and blue is hot.

Why does eevryone complain about the blue tints found in some lights?

Well, when I was a kid, I wanted a mercury vapor bulb. Even tried to describe one to Santa once! Didn't know that they needed ballasts, though.
