Same emitter, same battery, different run times. Who has the best drivers?

Is there a way to get more detailed information on what drivers are used in our favorite brands and how efficient they may be? Here's a little list of lights with all the same XM-L emitters and tested with a "2600 mah" 18650 battery. Maybe the Olight and 4Sevens tested with 2x123? Sunwayman...

Need Surefire quality in an 2xAA light...

Checkout the Shiningbeam Caveman, i like it more than the 4-7s or zebra 2xAA. It definitely has a professional "hearty" quality to it and $40 shipped for the t5 version is a steal.

Sho Yer Dim Thro Lites- WHAT?

I can't believe this thread came up. It's so ridiculous but i made an aspheric lens for my Fenix E01 out of a jewelers loop TP rolls and a rubber gasket LOL. It has crazy throw compared to it's normal state.

Any recommendation for a small AA light?

Checkout the Fenix e11, i like its simple UI click on and off and tighten head for high loosen head for low, can't be much simpler. Also some small AA twisties might be hard to operate with gloves. You can get him 3 lol.

AA Flashlight (Rechargeable with charging dock)

It's hard to figure out how you can recharge a battery pack but not AA cells them selves? The only option i can see for you is to get a light that accepts 14500 lions and can also use AA like the xeno e03. But you will still need docks for batteries there is nothing i see that will plug directly...

    longetivity - what chemistry

I would think Ni-Cad is obsolete in every way to Ni-Mh thanks to eneloops besides high discharge rate of Ni-Cad you don't need that power in this type of setup. And when it comes to Li-Ion you won't need that kind of power in a windup or solar device unless there is an added radio etc. I would...

looking for 2 specific budget lights

Ok guys disagree but at least list a light instead of adding nothing to the topic.....and by lesser quality i'm meaning the crapfire brands.

looking for 2 specific budget lights

Checkout the iTP Light A4 EOS for $30 and the 4sevens mini aa2 it's $40 but also a twisty. Any less quality and they won't be very reliable.

Review of ThruNite pre-production 3 XML light with measurements and outdoor beamshots

The DRY 3x XM-L is a nice light but it struggling to accept protected batteries is a turn off. So knowing the TN30/illuminator can take batteries up to 70mm is great. This looks to be the best "budget" 3x XM-L light whenever it comes out.

Ask to the experts about 18650 new mha capacity

The 3100mah Panasonic are the best out on the market today until they release the 3.4 and 4.0 AH batteries in a year or two. Check this thread out http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?327833-Panasonic-3400-mAh-18650

Buying my 1st LED flashlight: Zebralight SC80 vs SC51 vs ThruNite T10 vs Fenix LD12

Re: Buying my 1st LED flashlight: V10A vs E11 vs P1A vs E03 Remember that the thrunite t10 is 3 modes with the firefly mode also, the 115 to 10 lumens difference isn't as bad as it sounds. As for tints Hicri < neutral < cool is how its goes on here but it's all about preference and application.

    EDC 18650 light, slim & <$100?

First checkout the shiningbeam S-mini the r5 has more throw and the t6 is brighter but with a lot more flood. These are both your cheapest and smallest slimline EDC 18650s, it seems exactly like what you are looking for as was i. The Zebralight SC600 is a very nice light and the only one i found...

Is the FENIX LD10 the best single AA flashlight?

For me i have chosen the Thrunite t10 because of the small size, firefly mode, having memory and the lowest price. But the Xeno e03, Nitecore EZ AA, Zebralight SC51, 4sevens Quark reg or mini aa are all great choices and this list can go on at any price (custom titanium from the MP?). If you do...

    Fenix LD01 Possible defect?

I have the same thing with my light, it has to be around 1/2 second. With a fresh battery it's not as hard to change modes but you have to be quick. Sometimes with a low battery medium mode will come on but it won't change to low and just turns off when you try to change settings. It can get a...

Lithium primary AA - very low drain devices? NO/YES?

I don't think lithiums diminish any faster than normal after they have been used. There won't be a big capacity advantage like HKJ said but at least after sitting in your devices after some years they won't leak.

Any better value than a Fenix E11 for $25 ??

I've been looking for a single AA myself and have so far settled on a Thrunite t10, for $5 more it is 16mmx2mm shorter and half the weight of the E11 and it has memory and a firefly mode. But i assume the Fenix can take a bit more of a beating if that matters.
