What did you get a shine job while in prison? Cool.

    What is your Emergency light?

Fenix L1D R2 with a LiFePO4 - high output for EDC use with the LiFePO4 cell, but I can throw regular AAs in it for runtime. I have a spare LiFe and NiMH cell in my laptop bag. This one has been one of my most reliable and durable lights, and I upgraded it to an R2 emitter. Fenix L0D Q4 - size...

    Home Defense

If the defense plan is a bright *** light, you need a better plan. Hopefully you can convince your wife otherwise about some better protection. Even if the police can get to you 5 minutes after you manage to call 911, that can be 4 minutes and some odd seconds too late. She's probably full of...

Aggressive knurling - yes or no?

Somehow, millions of drunken adult males have managed to consume beer in countless cans of non-knurled aluminum which are heavy and often wet, adding to the slipperyness in their inebriated condition. Somehow there wasn't a national pandemic of beer cans being dropped everywhere. Try taking...

Police officer has to quit this board!

I won't get into my Surefire experience because it might get me banned, but let's just say Fenix is a good brand with excellent support from Fenix-Store.com. Olight is new to the field but looks well built too. Olight M20 looks good, I ordered one. :)

    Deoxit killed my reflector

Ack! That sucks. :ohgeez: Thanks for the info. I just ordered some, now I know to be careful with the stuff.

Going to get a SureFire, tired of junk lites

If you aren't going to call in warranty on your Fenix I'll take it off of your hands. :)

Some people have to wear dress clothes.

Going to get a SureFire, tired of junk lites

+1 The point here is EVERYTHING can fail. One is zero, two is one. Get a AAA light for a backup light. You've ranted in a few posts for a number of days now... Have you even checked about the warranty?

    Fenix opinion on lube

A few threads that should help you out: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=207116 http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=207056 I tried the plumber's silicone but I think it might be too thick. I tried silicone spray but that seems too thin and needs frequent...

    Surefires restricted outside the US???

They probably just don't give a crap. :( It could be that they are like some gun manufacturers, they're on the gravy train from taxpayers and really don't care with the small percentage of civilian sales... Tide could be turning, as someone mentioned one of their lights being in Lowes. I...

    Rareness of E2 Camo

They are so rare because most have been lost in the woods. :grin2:

did any of your lights ever annoy you?

Huh? The reverse clicky for me has been far better at accidental activation then the forward clicky. I must be too easy going, because none of my lights really annoy me. The closest is my disappointment with the MiniM@g 2AA LED, the focus is sorta neat, but its output and runtime is lacking...

    I have a flashlight dilemma.

You need the Surefire E2DL for it's through? What do you mean? I just got a L1D CE Q5 in the mail today. :D You already have the D10, great light for 1 AA. I also have the L2 body (for a L2D CE Q5). Love the output from 2 AA's. Might be a worthy successor to the E2DL if you want to get...

Surefire warranty going down the crapper?

For each one in stock at a retailer, it's some poor guy getting fvcked out of his warranty service. Plain and simple. Not everyone has multiple Surefire flashlights. IMHO, you are giving them far more leeway than you should. The Iraq war started in 2003. Just over four years now. That is...

    LAPD's new flashlight

I thought Pelican always made quality lights, and they seem to specialize in polymer lights. Also made in US, so it seems like a fairly natural choice. I can see the polymer choice, the point was that is isn't so use able as a beat stick. Not sure that is a good idea or not, but they do want...

ok another noob here! Need help Please

Is it just me or does the Surefire Dominator lamp assembly look like an auto headlight lamp assembly? I was in the auto store yesterday, I admit I got to thinking if anyone tried some flashlight mods using them.

Surefire warranty going down the crapper?

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. +1 PhantomPhoton said. Start calling and complaining, sending emails, etc. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. You may want to call LApolicegear to verify it's in stock. A five second Google search brought them up, availability is listed at "Usually ships the same business...

Want to try Surefire but runtimes suck

Another +1 on that. There's a reason there are so many Fenix threads - high output and long runtimes with standard batteries for some models. CR123 models have good runtimes as well. If you can't wait, get a Fenix now, and then wait until June or July when the new models come out. If you...
