    daveslasers.com?

The website says class IIIa, < 5 mw. They better be good for modding if they're $99 + shipping!

    The joy of giving

Reflections off of what? It's not like he's reflecting it off of irregular surfaces here. Believe me, he is plenty responsible. It is used for demonstrations, not shining at bad students. Not to mention that there are plenty of things that are more hazardous in a Chemistry or Physics...

    The joy of giving

I no longer own a green laser pointer, but my AP Chemistry class ordered our teacher a 27mW greenie from Atlasnova. He uses it for our lectures (it's kind of bright on the wall) and for demonstartions in his Physics class. For example, he now uses it for light demonstrations like reflection...

    my leadlight is acting up

You could also try inserting an extra small spring to take up the extra space. Might be hard to make it fit right, but it's worth a try.

Who is better to buy from

Sorry that this is a little late, but I bought from the second seller one time and got a nice laser that responded well to the pot mod. I wondered the same thing about the seller and emailed Arnold Beland about it. His answer was that they're not the same ones he sells (which are supposed to...

Thingamewhatsit to hold the button down?

I use a plastic clothespin. I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but it works. A small rubber band or large rubber o-ring would probably also work.

how much *visible* difference would there be....

Are you sure it's only 3 mW? It sounds like a lot more than that from your description. Did you use a multimeter to measure it?

GREEN laser pointer, quality and price

Interesting thread. I think that a <5mW red laser would be just what you want; it would be bright enough, but not too bright, and could be left on until the battery runs out without damage. A normal green pointer should only be run for about a few minutes at a time maximum.

    Some new greenie pics

Quote: "Closeup of the dot on the wall as it looks when passing through the tiny hole in the plastic plate" Looks like a pretty interesting diffraction pattern to me.

    Leadlight 105/110 Modification Stages1,2

I too broke a laser trying to do the stage 2 mod, but it was because of my marginal soldering skills/ very cheap soldering gun. In hindsight, I shouldn't have tried the stage 2 mod at all, because the laser was already very bright after the pot mod, but as erkme73 said, my inner geek got the...
