Need help finding the right light

I wouldn't want it in my eyes, but for throats I bet nothing beats an Arc LS with AA adapter. I use it to check myself before bothering to call my doctor. The only thing it doesn't have standard non-mod which might be good for shirt-pocketing is a clip. (See LS4, coming soon! )

    Does Anyone Still Use Incandescent?

A Tigerlight bedside & to use for walk between house & garage. G2 and new Tigerlight in the car. 8nx in my coat The LSH-P in my pocket gets used many times each day, but it's far from bright enough even to do the nightly light up the yard & hunt for the left-out toys. Or... maybe I just need...

    Tigerlight Promotional?

I thought it wasn't a defective spray actuator, but just that the cover to prevent anything from bumping against the actuator wasn't machined quite right, so it wasn't going to spring back down as it's supposed to. Try a search you might find it here at CPF. I really think that's all the problem...

Light & Motion ARC Li-ion Bike Headlight

Well okay the lights cost less than... the bike. And we'll leave it at that! Browsing the Welch-Allyn/Solarc site, I noticed that there's a 21W, 1300 lumen monster HID listed as Application: Portable Illumination Cross Reference: Cateye Perhaps a Stadium 4 from Cateye? (If so, I sure hope...

Tigerlight's hoster & rail mount *PICS*

Re: Tigerlight\'s hoster & rail mount *PICS* XRunner -- I haven't tried any others. It's a good idea, but since my only other light with a body that fat is a 2D Maglite, well... I find the only time I use that any longer is to give it a nostalgic heft, turn it on and say to myself, ohmigod I...

Tigerlight's hoster & rail mount *PICS*

Re: Tigerlight\'s hoster & rail mount *PICS* Okay, I'm going to try to do this correctly. (I'm sure I'll be informed if I screw it up!) New collar, unattached to loop and showing the split, having tightening screws: As you can see, it's nicely machined as designed, but the design does leave...

Tigerlight's hoster & rail mount *PICS*

Re: Tigerlight\'s hoster & rail mount I ordered mine 11/6, so mine took a while to come also. I used the shipping that was standard, around 8 bucks, but I can't recall exactly what shipper that was. (USPS?) Ya, I'd sorta like to have something to put it onto also. Can't exactly fit it on my...

Tigerlight's hoster & rail mount *PICS*

Tigerlight\'s hoster & rail mount *PICS* I received it in the mail last night, as part of the freebie deal offered. It's a great idea that I haven't seen elsewhere. There's a split, anodized aluminum collar that you screw together tight onto your TL. On that collar is machined the recess for...

Why a whole new tailcap? Anybody happen to know if one can purchase only the rubber part from SF? (I'd be interested in getting one of these myself also.)

Flashlight if money weren't a big problem?

Re: Flashlight if money weren\'t a big problem? Badbeams I agree that the application should dictate the light. $250 puts even the very special lights within reach. Gosh, there are so many great lights at & under the $250 range. Without regard to your application the answer has to be selfish...

    New M3 Bezel?

Yeah yeah I know the moth stuff is BS but you were sincere about the reality check, right? I truly believe that a cop in Cambridge, Mass would haul me in if he saw me lighting my way through, say, Harvard Square with that pokey thing. Would it be allowed on/near the Berkely campus? I wouldn't...

    New M3 Bezel?

Okay Don, I disagree with your conclusion because the product could be judged regardless of stated design intent but let's leave it at that. I gather from your other posts that you have quite a bit of insight, and perhaps also some fabrication associations with SF so it's cool to hear an...

    New M3 Bezel?

That new M3 bezel looks sorta weapon-like to me, so it is definitely illegal for a civilian to posess anywhere within Massachusetts. [ QUOTE ] Ch 269, S. 10, (b) Whoever, except as provided by law, carries on his person, or carries on his person or under his control in a vehicle, any...

Flashlights as a Deterrent against wild animals?

Re: Flashlights as a Deterrent against wild animal Avix the Tigerlight just came out with a gun (Picatinny) mount for that big light. I don't know the geometry of either that or your M1 Carbine (do you have a mount on it?) but it'd sure be a relatively inexpensive, bright light. Dukester did...

Halloween: What lights to send with kiddies?

I'm thinking of decking my little Spiderman with a G2 and my little ghost with an 8nx. Dad the pirate will carry the Tigerlight and spare batteries for the kids. An Arc LSH-P in the pocket for backup. I've also bought some of those LED flashers that clip on magnetically. One atop each head or...

UV Flashlight to find golf balls at night

I'm going a bit on intuition and vague recollection, but don't HID lights give off a bunch of UV? Many more per watt than incandescent? So that may be another option -- an HID (such as UK Light Cannon) with a UV filter. Might give much more range than some other options. But on the other...

    New Guy Checking In...

Welcome. Ain't it great how kids still love flashlights just as you did when you were young? I have a 3 yr-old who's inside with a cold on this cloudy, dark New England day. At this moment he's wandering the house on a hunt for one of his toys. Dressed with his Batman cape and mask, he's using...
