First informed EDC, LD10 or L1T?

I think you should look for an AAA EDC light, it will make the transition from a dinky keychain light easier. Have a look at the LD01.

    Surefire E2L & A2 Photos

Added: A2 WW LED (50 deg) Beam Shot Note: 12" away from the wall. I had to position the light so close to the wall so my camera can see the entire beam pattern.

    Surefire E2L & A2 Photos

I have the Y/G version too, but it's too dim. I've tried to replace the stock LED's with both 15 degree and 50 degree NICHIA warm-white LED's. The 15 degree has a blueish hot spot, typical of a NICHIA LED. 50 degree one is floody, the beam pattern is close to the original Y/G LED's, but less...

    Flashlight Connectors damaging battery ends?

Re: Flashlight Connectors damaging battery ends, and lubricants? For threads, any automotive dielectric grease will do. NyoGel 760G is highly recommended here, but I doubt it will make any significant difference on our flashlights. For O-rings, silicone O-ring lubricant from the plumbing...

How to lubricate Nitecore D10 PD?

That's why the Krytox from Sandwich Shoppe is a mixture of grease and oil (ratio 50:50). So there is less grease that will stick to the sidewall.

How to lubricate Nitecore D10 PD?

Nyogel is just a dielectric grease they use in automotive electric connectors. IMO, it's better to lubricate the PD with Krytox, which is a teflon-based lubricant. You will get a much smoother action. Sandwich Shoppe sells them.

    The SureFire A2 Thread Index

I don't think there is an LED drop-in for the A2. And I don't think it can be made. LED drop-ins contain current regulation, and A2 already has voltage regulation by way of using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). I just don't think the two will work together.

Does Anyone Sell a CR123 Spacer?

AW's price of $5 includes shipping. You have to add shipping from all the US dealers. If all you need is one CR123 dummy cell, AW's price isn't bad.

Is the original incandesent A2 Aviator going extinct?

No official announcement maybe. But I don't believe it. Both BatteryJunction and OpticsHQ are getting their stocking level down on new A2's and the color choices are low. Also if you look on eBay, less popular colors are being discounted heavily. I smell the new A2 LED will be out very shortly.

What is the ONE light you would grab in a power outage

I don't.... Because I have a Intermatic Power Failure Light on my hallway. It will automatically turns ON when power goes out.

    Something for All-around use

Rechargeable 123's do exist (sometime referred to as RCR123), but their capacity isn't very good and suffer from short runtime. The most popular Li-Ion rechareables are 18650's and 17670's, and generally have the capacity to drive a LED in high output for an hour. They are also exactly the...

Recommend an "attention getter" for night walks?

hmmm.... without blinding the driver of the oncoming car with 800 lum of light. :grin2:

Recommend an "attention getter" for night walks?

Ask you've stated, this Law is for emergency vehicles only. I am not aware of any State Law prohibits the use of blue flashlight for pedestrian use on public roads. Afterall, if you want to be seen, blue light is your best choice, as it's uncommon in nature.

Recommend an "attention getter" for night walks?

Yes, Surefire Kroma. You need color lights. The 8 blue LEDs will definitely be an attention grabber. It will also illuminate the sidewalk without destroying you night vision. If there is heavy fog or mist, switch to the reds instead. Work with rechargeables too.

Why is a A2 so popular?

On the K2, I use the blue light instead of low white. Blue is slightly better at preserving your night vision. There are two levels of blues for this task, compare to just one level of low white on the A2. What make me carry the K2 is it's ability to use rechargeables 17670. Over 1.5 hours...

Surefire G2 received then put rechargeable oops

Roger, The OP was talking about the 3.0V rechargeable 123's blowing up the bulb. Please read my warning above: "Peak voltage of 3.0V Li-Ion will be 3.9 V after fully charged." It will do no harm to a regulated LED light, since voltage is clamped by the circuit to around 3.7V. However...

Surefire G2 received then put rechargeable oops

Fred, You should have read the warning on Powerizer's web site: - Peak voltage of 3.0V Li-Ion will be 3.9 V after fully charged. Once loaded, cell's voltage will drap to 3.6 - 3.2V - For some SureFire flashlight might burn the bulb due to higher voltage. We recommend to use our CR123...

"Wall" of light..with some punch in the middle?

Wolf Eyes 9D (with D36 mini-turbo head) fits your description very well. This is my night time walking light. Not too heavy either. You can check out BUZ's 9D setup here.

Recommend a light for my application!

Checkout the rechargeable incan flashlights over on the incan forum. They are better thrower than LED's, specially in fog. Rechargeables will save you money in long run. This is why incan's are still used by LEO's.
