    Does Luxeon Vf shift?

Does the Vf of a Luxeon LED shift or vary over its life? I haven't been playing with them long enough to see. Thanks Duane

    1 watt LED 20,000MCD question

[ QUOTE ] koala said: What sort of optics will fit on these? Thanks, Vince. [/ QUOTE ] Both the Fraen and 30mm optics "fit" but neither well. You'd need to get creative to centre and raise the optic for optimum beam. IMO you should spend the extra money and stay with the Luxeon. There's...

    Tristar III vs. Solarc 10W??

Something else that I think will have an effect on this arena in the future, LED prices are dropping while W/A recently raised Solarc prices by 20%. Where's the compact HID competition?

    Tristar III vs. Solarc 10W??

Also, I should add that these were not stellar Luxeons, but SV1js. If I was a tinkerer wanting to build a really good light I would probably go with the Solarc. But, I think in a few years we'll see that the LEDs will have taken over with the HIDs never really breaking into the mainstream. Duane

    Tristar III vs. Solarc 10W??

I'm sorry, bad choice of terms. I meant that I thought the 3xIII was hot as in excitingly bright. The Solarc easily swamped it out at ranges out to dozens of meters and was a wider beam as well. Duane

    Tristar III vs. Solarc 10W??

I have tried these exact two setups together in a subjective test. The LSIIIs were at 900ma and I thought it was pretty hot until I put it beside the 13 degree WA. Not even close. And there were some real thermal challenges to having the three LEDs that close together in an enclosure. When it...

    Jackpot!!! X3T 5-watter. 10000 lux barrier broken!

Re: Jackpot!!! X3T 5-watter At the risk of asking the obvious, what does someone have to do, or where do they have to go, to get high-bin LSs? Duane

Do I have to play the lottery?

Is there a Luxeon supplier where you can choose (or at least be aware of at time of order) the bin of a Luxeon, or is it always a game of chance? Speaking of suppliers, other than Future Electronics or Elektrolumens, where are you people getting your LSs? Thanks Duane

    Multiple LSIII driver

Greetings, I've found that three LSIIIs with a Fraen Tri-Lens make for an excellent mountain bike light. I'd like something more efficient than my current LM317-based current regulator though. Does anyone know of any drivers out there with the ability to deliver this kind of power (roughly 13V...
